After many years, the ladies of World of Warcraft finally get pretty chain bikinis. But everyone else can wear them too.
If there is one thing that WoW players want, then it is transmog. Preferably a lot of it, and when they think it’s enough, then one more item. Accordingly, the joy was over 3 years ago when chain bikinis were found in the game data – which never appeared, however. But now something has changed, and it is clear: Soon they will be available at the trading post.
What was found? In the game data for the upcoming patch 11.2.7, a small change was discovered by data miners at wowhead. Because some “chain bikinis” now finally have a source associated with the item: the trading post. Even though there is still no specific date recognizable, there is finally certainty that the chain bikinis will come in the near future. The current price is estimated to be 150 trader currencies.
However, it is still not clear in which month the chain bikinis will be available at the trading post. Blizzard usually reveals that only shortly before.

What are these items? The chain bikinis, or “Kettinis,” are exactly what the name suggests: bikinis to which chains have been attached. Whether these are really protective steel chains or if one just wanted to have a fishnet look is something everyone can decide for themselves.
As is usual in World of Warcraft, the Kettinis can be worn by all characters, so even men can dress in them.

How long have they been in the game? The chain bikinis have been in the game data of World of Warcraft for quite some time – namely, for almost 3 years, shortly after the launch of Dragonflight. Back then, it was thought that these bikinis would be part of patch 10.0.5 – which was not the case. After two patches later still nothing was seen of the chain bikinis, they became a little forgotten.
Bikinis in WoW caused discussions for a long time
In World of Warcraft, there was a time when bikinis and rather revealing clothing were viewed quite critically, as the developers realized during Cataclysm that they had gone overboard. Chris Metzen explained at the time at BlizzCon that his daughter had asked him during the closing video of the Dragon Soul raid why all the women were wearing bathing suits.
Although the move was welcomed at the time, there are already voices wishing for more feminine clothing items in the game again, as discussed recently in the WoW subreddit.
In the meantime, Blizzard has returned to introducing more diverse clothing into the game, especially with the introduction of the trading post, but as always with transmog options in the game: Fans always want more, and the wardrobe can never be full enough. Exactly for such customization lovers the Haranir are a dream – that is the new race in WoW Midnight.
