Karazhan loses a lot of bite. The “mini-raid” instance in World of Warcraft is being heavily nerfed.
Small hotfixes and patches are not uncommon in World of Warcraft, especially not after the release of a new raid. However, the hotfix from July 17, 2017 (which will go live for us one day later, that is tonight) weakens another instance – namely Karazhan. This affects the heroic and mythic difficulty levels – and only the second half of the instance. The following bosses have been weakened:
Medivh’s Shades
- The impact damage of Infernal Bolt has been reduced by 25% on mythic difficulty.
Mana Devourers
- Energy Burst now deals 20% less damage on heroic and mythic difficulty.
- Energy Vacuum now deals 50% less damage on heroic and mythic difficulty.
Viz’aduum
- Chess: The king now has 30% fewer health points.
- Disintegration deals 25% less damage on heroic and mythic difficulty.
- Disintegration now has a cast time of 2.5 seconds in the first phase of the fight.
- Explosive Shadows now deal 25% less damage on heroic and mythic difficulty.
- Shadow Bolt now deals 20% less damage on heroic and mythic difficulty.
Warglaives of Azzinoth are now correctly attached to the back
But something else has been fixed by the hotfix that demon hunters should be happy about: the Warglaives of Azzinoth are now attached over the shoulder – crossed, just like before.
Cortyn says: I think it’s a shame that Karazhan is being weakened after such a long time. For me, it was one of the most beautiful experiences of Legion, fighting through the tower with a group and finally defeating the final boss after a long time. The fact that this will now be easier makes me a bit sad – although there really is no reason for that since better gear already makes Karazhan significantly easier.
Maybe the changes are also for the mythic dungeon tournament – after all, there’s $100,000 at stake!
