World of Warcraft is currently placing hints about a new, major conspiracy in the game world. An old enemy may be much more cunning than we thought.
With World of Warcraft Shadowlands there are a whole series of new plots in the history of the Warcraft universe. But it is not only the eponymous Shadowlands that are illuminated, but also conflicts and problems that extend across multiple dimensional planes. A new hint in the game now suggests that there is much more going on in the cosmos of Warcraft than we thought.

The Mysterious Report in Revendreth
In the area of Revendreth, players can find a book titled “Infiltration of Enemies – Preface” (“Enemy Infiltration – Preface”). This is a readable object, meaning a typical book in World of Warcraft. However, the location where players can find this item is already notable. The book is located at the “Tower of Unseen Guests,” providing a clear hint.
Who are the Unseen Guests? Although the term “Unseen Guests” sounds very open, it is not so in World of Warcraft. This is a designation for the Nathrezim, who are known to most players as Dreadlords. This name was established in the Ashbringer comics, where one of them introduces himself as “Thal’kituun,” which translates to “Unseen Guests.”
What is in the book? The book tells of the infiltration of several major, cosmic powers. Here we have translated the text of the book as accurately as possible:
“To our amazing and magnificent master.
I am pleased to report that after long study of our rivals I have completed my observations.
Please accept this summary in advance of my full report, which will follow shortly.
We assume that some of our targets are more difficult to topple than others. But each of them is susceptible to manipulation in different ways, and our agents have already woven themselves into their structures.
This is, after all, the solemn task for which you have created us. As you like to say: Once a desire is understood, it can be exploited.
Enough of the prologue. Allow me to summarize what I have found.
In many ways, the titans will be the easiest to manipulate. Their only goal is to impose structure on everything they see.
Show them a power that contradicts their quest for order, and they will be consumed by the urge to extinguish it.
Your pantheon, seemingly so united in purpose, is susceptible to fragmentation.
The Void Lords welcome us with open arms. They are so busy with their thousand truths that they ignore the lies we sow among them.
I believe we can use their enormous reach to shield us against our rivals.
However, we remain cautious. As they are able to see many outcomes, it is quite possible that they foresee our arrival.
Similar to the titans, the Naaru and their keepers are bound to a single purpose. Their adherence to a linear path is an obvious deficit.
They enjoy nothing more than proving themselves. If they think one of us has converted to their precious light, they will trust that agent unconditionally.
The followers of life are the most insidious opponents, presumably because their nature is so contrary to ours.
Yet we have learned much from observing the connection between their world and Ardenweald, and we are confident that we have identified a weakness.
Our agent has already gained the trust of their target.
As previously discussed, our position in the realm of chaos is developing flawlessly. Consuming demonic energies is not a pleasant process, but a necessary one.
The deception you have created will bear fruit in the coming ages.
As always, we will serve as your unseen hand. We will poison any host foolish enough to invite us into their midst.
I remain, as always, your dutiful servant.”
Possible Meanings of the Report
There are now a whole series of clues and interpretative possibilities regarding the content of the text, but we would like to briefly address the most important ones. It seems that this is a report from a Nathrezim to his master. The Nathrezim infiltrate all major kingdoms and install their agents everywhere to guide the fate of the cosmos.
The mentioned manipulation of the titans seems to have been successful. After all, Sargeras had separated from the titans and created the Burning Crusade. The titans are no longer a unity, but are working against one of their brothers.
The manipulation of the Naaru may have taken place through Lothraxion. He is a Dreadlord in the Army of the Light. He appeared in the “Legion” expansion and holds a high position in the Army of the Light. Many wondered at that time how he got this position. Now it seems clear that he was infiltrated to gain the trust of the Naaru and other light forces.
The “position in the realm of chaos” is allegedly developing splendidly. This could be due to Sargeras being fallen and imprisoned. The still massive forces of the Legion are fragmented and likely leaderless. The Nathrezim could be filling the power vacuum and bringing the Legion under their control. Perhaps they are consuming demonic energies to become more powerful among the demons.
Speculations about Denathrius: This new riddle is another piece of the puzzle regarding the story of the Nathrezim. Because Denathrius, our “leader” among the Venthyr, visually resembles a Dreadlord much more than the other Venthyr. His origins are not clearly defined, and it is possible that he is deeply involved in a vast conspiracy. Perhaps he is even the master of the Nathrezim, who has distributed them among different realms.
It is clear that the Nathrezim – or the Thal’kituun – are scheming some plan that spans not only Azeroth and the Shadowlands, but all major powers of the cosmos. They seem to be much more than just henchmen of the Legion and are apparently pursuing a much larger goal. A goal that encompasses the entire cosmos and spans all dimensional planes. What exactly they want to achieve and who their “rivals” are remains unclear.
In upcoming expansions, this story will surely continue, as it seems the developers are slowly building towards a huge finale for this plot.
