In World of Warcraft, the festive mood has broken out. Patch 11.0.5 is now live and lures with numerous temporary contents.
World of Warcraft is celebrating its 20th birthday. For two decades, Blizzard’s MMORPG has been around, and on the occasion of this anniversary, there is a lot to celebrate – and you can feel it in the game starting now. Because the latest patch is almost entirely focused on this anniversary and brings numerous rewards that you can earn in the coming weeks and months.
What are the highlights? The majority of the event takes place in Tanaris, in front of the Caverns of Time. Here, the Bronze Dragons – and many other characters – have set up their tents and are celebrating the birthday. Some of the main attractions at this event include:
- HD versions of the Tier-2 sets for all classes – including those that did not exist back then.
- The raid “Blackrock Depths” is a new raid inspired by the former huge dungeon. It is available at LFR, Normal, and Heroic difficulties.
- Chromie wants to witness the opening of Ahn’Qiraj – but things go wrong. You must help the dragon in a scenario.
- A stylish phoenix mount in the Blizzard colors, waiting at the end of a meta achievement.
- Timewalking for Classic: Dungeons like the Darkshore are now available.
- New world bosses in Tanaris, such as the Sha of Anger.
In addition, there are numerous smaller activities designed primarily for fun – such as a mount competition, the possibility to pose as famous NPCs, or an ice slide.
What else is there? Aside from the new features, many of the familiar contents from previous anniversary events are also available. This means that world bosses in the form of the nightmare dragons will appear all over the world, and the PvP mode “Korrak’s Revenge” will also return for Alterac Valley.
Additionally, you can buy many of the old rewards from past celebrations at vendors if you do not already own them.
Until when are the contents available? If you want to snag all the rewards, you can take your time. Because the event is active not just for a few weeks but for several months. The festivities will last until January 7, 2025, so everyone should have more than enough time to earn the desired rewards.
When the celebrations come to an end in 2025, it is likely to continue seamlessly with patch 11.0.7 or 11.1. There is a high probability that Beledar will play a role – a mystery that was only solved a few days ago.
