With Burning Crusade Classic, Blizzard aims to satisfy the WoW community. However, this also means that there will be some changes.
For many players of WoW: Classic, the biggest announcement at BlizzCon was probably that of “Burning Crusade Classic”. After all, many players have fond memories of this WoW era, while some players who were not there at the time can dive into the shattered world for the first time as a relevant area.
However, there were also a number of changes discussed that differ from the original game version.
Riding from Level 30
What sounds like a shock and a major change to many players is actually not the case. Because in patch 2.4.3 – still in the era of The Burning Crusade – Blizzard had already reduced the required level for the first mount to level 30.
Since this patch will be the foundation for the entire “Burning Crusade Classic” experience, players can already start riding at level 30 from the launch.
This is particularly relevant for players who want to level a second character or who want to plunge into battle as Draenei and Blood Elves. By the way, there is even more good news for them…
Draenei and Blood Elves from Pre-Patch
From the pre-patch of “Burning Crusade Classic”, players will be able to create Blood Elves and Draenei. They will then have a few weeks to level their characters to level 60 before the Dark Portal opens, and everyone streams into the shattered world together.
At the time of the first launch of The Burning Crusade, it was different. There, Blood Elves and Draenei could only be created with the launch, which meant that fans of the new races lagged behind for a long time, while their friends were already tackling tough dungeons and collecting good gear.
This change is especially helpful so that Alliance players can be accompanied directly by Shamans while Horde players can rush into battle with Paladins.
Seal of Blood for all Paladins
Paladins can rejoice, as one of the greatest injustices of Burning Crusade is being rectified. Not only do Blood Elves gain access to the Seal of Blood, but Paladins in the Alliance do as well.
Why is this being changed? The reason is that the Seal of Blood was simply much more powerful than the Seal of Vengeance. To prevent Blood Elf Paladins from being significantly stronger than their Alliance counterpart – which would lead to players switching to Horde in droves – all Paladins are simply getting this seal.
In the interest of maintaining faction balance, this is certainly a good decision.
Burning Crusade might get LFG tool
This is not a reason for panic for classic players, though. It is not a tool that automatically searches for players and throws groups into the dungeon. Blizzard does not want to implement that.
It is simply about a way to better list searching players, so that it is easier to see who is looking for a group. This way, potential candidates can find each other more quickly.
Once again: There will not be automated group assignments like in retail.
By the way, this is not entirely new. In The Burning Crusade, there was already a simple LFG tool via the meeting stones. However, it was hardly used and was very limited in its functions.
More small adjustments planned
What else is changing? In addition to these rather large changes, there are also a number of detail adjustments that are to come. There are no concrete plans yet, but the issues are being discussed and changes are being considered:
- The war drums are so strong that they practically require every raider to choose leatherworking as a profession. This is on the radar and is to be adjusted.
- Arena teams will likely be larger. A 5-player team can have a maximum of 10 members. This way, teams can still play even if a player is unavailable.
- The PvP seasons could be adjusted to phases, so there may be more or fewer PvP seasons than there were in the original Burning Crusade.
What do you think of the planned changes to Burning Crusade Classic? Are these good and sensible adjustments? Or should the game have been left completely untouched?
