The squirrels in World of Warcraft are going rampant. They are disrupting trade in Orgrimmar – but how did this happen?
If you’re traveling in Val’Sharah, you’ve likely been asked by a worgen lady to crack some nuts and relocate squirrels a few times. But have you ever wondered where all the little rodents are actually being relocated to?
The answer to that question has now been found by user Zhimu on Reddit. When he attempted to visit the auction house in Orgrimmar, a crate with the rodents apparently burst open – the entire place was filled with squirrels, which even caused some graphic hiccups as too many NPCs were displayed at once.
Is the Auction House Dance Party Responsible for This Glitch?
The exact reason for this massive outbreak of rodents is still not completely clear.
The most likely theory is that the squirrels are actually “invisible” NPCs that Blizzard uses as navigation points for events and spells. It could therefore be a remnant of the Auction House Dance Party, which is not supposed to be visible. However, these “hooks” sometimes become visible due to a bug.
As some players explain on Reddit that they have experienced something similar, such as in the auction house of Stormwind, the theory about the Auction House Dance Party glitch seems to be becoming more plausible. The micro-holidays are already known for their high error potential – for instance, the “Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl” failed several times and was still completely buggy at the end.
Let’s just hope that during this time, no allergist was in the auction house and that D.E.H.T.A. didn’t notice this mass animal husbandry.
