A new potion in WoW fulfills the wish of many players. Thanks to the “Inky Black Potion” from the Darkmoon Faire, nights in WoW can now be almost as dark as in reality.
A popular topic in World of Warcraft is the nights. Some players find the nights in certain areas of the game too dark, others find them too bright – sometimes there is hardly any difference whether you play during the day or night.
WoW: What does the Inky Black Potion do? It makes it dark
Blizzard has often found itself in a dilemma here. Do you want “realistic nights” in the game with strong darkness? This wouldn’t have suited players who primarily play in the evenings and at night. For years there has been an eternal back and forth, leading to some zones in WoW becoming brighter and darker over the years.
Now this debate may have found a premature end, as Blizzard has given all heroes the chance to experience truly dark nights in the game. And by “dark” we mean “really dark”. In some zones, hardly anything can be seen, and only light sources like torches or fel fire illuminate the playing area, in addition to the faint glow of the stars.
The reason for this is a new potion, the “Inky Black Potion”. The potion darkens WoW significantly for 2 hours, regardless of the actual time of day. All light sources are reduced and the skybox is replaced with a starry sky.
Especially in Duskwood or Darkmoon Island, you can hardly see your own hand in front of your eyes!
The potion is sold at the Darkmoon Faire by the undead Rona Greenleaf, who has set up her camp a bit away from the attractions. For just 3 gold pieces, it is quite cheap for heroes at maximum level.
How do you like this effect? Already scouted a few new zones with it?
Cortyn says: With this potion, there are nights like I wished for. Particularly roleplayers will probably always have 10-20 stacks of it in reserve to experience the actual beauty of a dark night. But it’s also a cool effect for exploration tours to give old zones a new look. You should definitely try it out and see for yourself!
