In World of Warcraft, you can now have more characters on your account. The limit has been increased by 20%.
The Patch 10.0 of World of Warcraft is live, officially ushering in the era of Dragonflight, even though the release of the expansion is still a month away. Many of the new systems are already in the game, such as the talents and the new race-class combinations. Additionally, in 2 weeks, the release of the Dracthyr for pre-order customers of Dragonflight is coming.
Many long-time players are troubled by one concern: Do you have to delete beloved characters to make room for new ones? The short answer is: A clear no.
What is changing? With the Pre-Patch 10.0 of World of Warcraft, the character limit per account will be increased. In the future, you can have not just “only” 50 characters on your account, but a whopping 60. So you will have space for 10 new characters in total.
Currently, it’s even worth leveling characters quickly – there’s a significant XP boost that is active until the release of the Dracthyr.
Why is Blizzard doing this? The reason is obvious. With the Pre-Patch 10.0 and the upcoming launch of Dragonflight, there’s a lot of reason to try out new characters. After all, there’s a new class of the Evoker with the race of the Dracthyr, but old races are also getting new combinations. This way, all races can now play rogues – which means you can now also play a Tauren rogue.
So that all players have enough space to implement at least a few of the new character ideas, Blizzard is now freeing up some new slots.
What do you think of the increased character limit? Absolutely necessary, or superfluous since you can’t play that many characters actively anyway?
