WoW: In the “World First” race, bosses are buffed by 20%

Ny’alotha on Mythic difficulty was not well balanced. WoW is constantly pushing hotfixes.

The “World First” race for the first kill of the Mythic boss N’Zoth in World of Warcraft might be over quite quickly. Before the European guild Method could even start playing, the American guild had already plowed through half of the raid with overwhelming ease. Even the players stated that many bosses had too little health – and Blizzard quickly made adjustments, sometimes between two pulls.

What happened? The guild Limit used the time advantage to defeat the bosses in Ny’alotha and were quite surprised by some of the enemies. The bosses often had relatively low health and could sometimes be defeated almost with “Brute Force.” But between the first pull of the boss Ra-den and the second, something interesting happened multiple times – the health points of the enemies skyrocketed. The boss gained nearly 20% additional health from one try to the next.

Apparently, Blizzard is also monitoring the boss fights live and immediately implements adjustments when a boss could fall too quickly and does not match the difficulty that was initially expected.

Bosses weaker than expected for Blizzard?

Why are the bosses so weak? “Weak” is of course a relative term – after all, we are talking about some of the best WoW players in the world. However, that Blizzard raised the health of bosses by about 20% between two pulls suggests that even the developers did not know exactly what corrupted items would do to the power of certain characters. Otherwise, it is hard to explain why such large adjustments are made during an ongoing raid.

Corrupted items have already been nerfed: Coinciding with the weekly maintenance, Blizzard had already reduced some effects of the corrupted items, causing significantly less damage. Apparently, this was still not enough, which is why the bosses had to be fine-tuned a bit more. Corrupted items are heavily criticized anyway.

Hopefully, N’Zoth will have an appropriate health pool from the start. It would be a shame if the final fight is over so quickly.
