Stormwind in World of Warcraft will soon change again. Many guests are leaving the city – and then finding a new home.
Anyone spending a lot of time in the human city of Stormwind in World of Warcraft will have noticed some changes over the years. The most striking are the numerous refugees that arrived with the start of the “Battle for Azeroth” expansion. After all, Teldrassil was burned at that time – all Worgen and Night Elves fled to Stormwind.
What is changing? If you look at the PTR for Patch 10.2 Watchers of the Dream, Stormwind has changed significantly. All Night Elf and Worgen refugees have disappeared from the streets. The small campfires by the canal and the associated sleeping spots have been removed.
Also in the north of the city, by the fields, the Night Elves and Worgen have withdrawn. There, the Druids had previously helped at the pumpkin farm.

Where are the refugees then? From Patch 10.2 Watchers of the Dream, the refugees will be near the Amirdrassil. This is the new World Tree, whose seed Tyrande received at the end of “Shadowlands” and which has been growing in the Emerald Dream ever since.
Although the tree is currently still in the Emerald Dream, the inhabitants seem to be preparing to move. This is not surprising, as the patch takes place in the Emerald Dream and everything revolves around protecting the new World Tree from Fyrakk and the Druids of the Flame.
It is to be assumed that with the end of Patch 10.2, the Amirdrassil will then transition from the Dream to the real dimension plane. The perfect place for this would be the large, round indentation in the southwestern sea of the Ohn’ahra plains.
When will it go live? There is still no release date for Patch 10.2 Watchers of the Dream. However, the release will likely not occur until after the BlizzCon in November – because at BlizzCon you can try out “upcoming playable content,” which according to the infographic refers to Patch 10.2.
