The Palace of Nerub’ar is the latest raid in World of Warcraft. A hidden toy there could soon be in your collection.
In The War Within, the developers of World of Warcraft have hidden one or two secrets again. Especially collectors like to have all kinds of toys in their box. For one of them, you need a special trinket that you can loot in the raid “Palace of Nerub’ar”. Because only with the trinket can you access a special toy.
We are talking about the “Treacherous Transmitter” and the resulting “Infiltrator’s Shroud”.
What kind of trinket is this? The “Treacherous Transmitter” can be obtained from the boss Nexus Princess Ky’vexa. The trinket grants a large amount of haste when equipped, but it also has a use effect that additionally grants a large amount of primary stat (Intellect, Agility, or Strength) – at least if you can complete the tasks that the trinket demands of you.
What can the trinket do? The trinket is one of the slightly more complex trinkets in World of Warcraft. The use effect says:
Receive cryptic instructions from somewhere in the Twisting Nether that reveal your next task. It’s probably nothing special, so complete it to gain 15 seconds of X [Scales with item level] primary stat.
As the text suggests, the trinket presents you with various tasks, which are then rewarded with a massive bonus to your primary stat. One task is triggered per activation. You have 15 seconds for each of these tasks.
- When 3 crystals appear above your head, you need to jump 3 times.
- A purple energy orb flies away a few meters from you. Pick it up.
- An energy field appears a few meters away. Stand on it and remain there for 2 seconds.
The trinket requires movement, and sometimes that can be disadvantageous as you might lose performance and do less damage to the boss. However, the massive bonus to the primary stat should more than compensate for this brief loss if you use the trinket skillfully.
How do you get the toy? Each time the trinket is used, there is a very small chance that not only one of the above effects will be triggered, but additionally an enemy named “Reaper” will appear. The opponent is not particularly difficult, but still counts as an elite opponent – if you’re not careful, he can kill you quite quickly.
This mob has the chance to drop the toy “Infiltrator’s Shroud.” This toy transforms you into an Ethereal for 20 minutes, with a cool Void look.
Note that other players can also attack the mob that appears through the trinket. This way, multiple people can have a chance to receive the toy, and you do not necessarily have to own the trinket yourself.
