The 8.1 update of World of Warcraft brings several new currencies into the game. Players will soon be able to “farm” loot in Warfronts.
The Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance brings many changes to World of Warcraft that players have been wishing for since the beta. Clear, tangible goals to work towards. A new currency creates such a goal. To achieve it, one must engage in the Warfronts.
What kind of currency is available? Horde players can receive “Commendations of the Vowed”, while Alliance players can grab the “Commendations of the 7th Legion”.
Where can you get the commendations? So far, it is only certain that the commendations can be obtained from Warfronts. Many players speculate that they could also be obtained from other sources, such as the “Incursions” (Horde/Alliance attacks on quest areas) or special war mode quests. However, this has not been confirmed yet.
What rewards are available? Currently, most rewards are cosmetic in nature. There are two stylish capes in red and blue (Alliance and Horde), a small Raptor as a pet, and faction-specific mounts. While the Alliance can buy a blue Scorpid and a noble Sabertooth, the Horde has to settle for a red Scorpid and a Dreadbat.
For both sides, there is also a ring of item level 350 – when used, it teleports the wearer to Dazar’Alor (Horde) or Boralus (Alliance). A perfect substitute for the hearthstone!
