Warfronts in World of Warcraft are getting an upgrade. Soon they will also be available in “heroic” mode!
When the feature of Warfronts was unlocked shortly after the launch of Battle for Azeroth, the faces in the community were long within a few hours. Although the reward with item level 370 was quite good, the difficulty of the Warfronts left much to be desired. It was far too easy, so even complete “random groups” could only lose when 10 or more out of 20 players were AFK.
This criticism has been taken to heart by Blizzard and they are announcing a new feature: Heroic Warfronts.
What are Heroic Warfronts? The heroic version is for groups and guilds that sign up with more than 5 people at the same time and want to experience a greater challenge. A minimum of 10 players is required to participate. Unlike in the regular Warfronts, it will be significantly easier to lose, as the opposing NPCs will likely be stronger than your own. Those who do not defend in time could be quickly overwhelmed.
Additionally, there is talk of “new mechanics” – so it is quite possible that enemy NPCs may prepare some ambushes to turn the tide of battle.
We will learn exactly how it works, but probably only when the PTR for Patch 8.2 is playable.
Patch 8.2 also brings Mechagnomes and a “Mega-Dungeon”!
When will Heroic Warfronts come? The Heroic Warfronts are planned for Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara. This will be released only after Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance and the smaller interim patch 8.1.5. We do not expect a release before April or May 2019.
Are you looking forward to Heroic Warfronts? Or have you already lost interest in this feature?
