In the next major patch of World of Warcraft, you shouldn’t be angry at a boss – because it will have devastating consequences.
In World of Warcraft, there are numerous hidden interactions that most players simply walk past without really engaging with them or even knowing that they exist.
This is also the case in Patch 10.1 Embers of Neltharion. Those who behave unfairly towards one of the main villains will quickly find themselves grilled and can then reconsider their actions.
What was found? In the story of Patch 10.1, there is a small encounter with Fyrakk. The incarnation of fire is actually lying quite “comfortably” while the heroes have to complete a few tasks.
The colleagues from wowhead have pointed out that you might not want to show Fyrakk directly what you think of him. Because those who use the emote /rude on the dragon will quickly be caught in a flame wave. This leaves the “Roasted” debuff, which causes extremely high damage and reduces the healing received to 0.
The result is a dead hero who can then reconsider their actions upon respawn.
Has there been something like this before? Yes. In the past, Blizzard has implemented certain reactions in NPCs and bosses when targeted with specific emotes.
The most famous interaction here is with Queen Azshara in the Eternal Palace. When you apply the /rude emote to her, she also reacts devastatingly and zaps players with a lightning strike that means instant death.
But other NPCs also react to emotes. For instance, Blood Elf paladins can /gawk at the city guards in Silvermoon and then witness how the city guard kneels – because Blood Elf paladins are story-wise blood knights and therefore rank higher than the guards.
So be careful in the future when you want to express your dissatisfaction towards a boss – the punishment for it might come immediately …
For an achievement, you even have to stand in the fire like a noob and die.
