From today, you can become even stronger in World of Warcraft. We will tell you how to unlock the new helmet enchantment.
Actually, there are no enchantments for helmet items in World of Warcraft Dragonflight. However, in the current season 3, that is different because you can also equip this armor slot with a powerful enchantment. This has been possible since today (December 13, 2023). We will tell you how to unlock the “Radiant Essence” and what effects it has for you.
What is the Radiant Essence? The item “Radiant Essence” is the enchantment for the helmet. However, you do not receive it from an enchanter or from the auction house, but you must earn the essence yourself.
The advantage: The Radiant Essence is not consumed upon use, allowing you to enchant your helmet repeatedly when you want to replace it with a better helmet, for example.
How do you get the Radiant Essence? To obtain the Radiant Essence, you must complete the quest “The Power of Dreams.” You receive this quest in the raid “Amirdrassil, Hope of Dreams.” The quest requires you to collect some items from bosses. Most of them are guaranteed drops, but the 50 “Echo of Ephemera” may take a while since they only drop in small quantities from the bosses. However, Blizzard has already increased the drop rates, and it has been possible to complete the quest since today.
What enchantments are there? Which enchantment is active with the Radiant Essence depends on your specialization. Depending on whether you are starting as a healer, tank, or damage dealer, the enchantment has different effects. These effects include:
- Tank Enchantment: When you take damage, there is a chance to be filled with “Flaming Wrath.” Your abilities deal additional fire damage for 12 seconds, divided among nearby enemies, and you receive a shield equal to the damage dealt. The damage increases per enemy hit up to a maximum of 5.
- Healer Enchantment: Your healing has a chance to apply “Thorn Barrier” to the target, absorbing a moderate amount of damage and inflicting minor nature damage to attackers. If the barrier is destroyed, the target will be healed slightly over 6 seconds. If the effect expires without destroying the barrier, the target receives a versatility bonus for 10 seconds.
- Ranged Enchantment: Your spells and abilities that deal damage have a chance to summon a parliament of ghost owls that attack your target and deal fire damage, divided among all nearby targets. The damage increases per enemy hit, up to a maximum of 5.
- Melee Enchantment: Your attacks have a chance to manifest a cruel blade, with different effects depending on the number of enemies. Single targets suffer shadow flame damage over time, while multiple targets receive fire damage, divided among all targets. The damage increases per enemy hit, up to a maximum of 5.
Is the Radiant Essence necessary? Basically, this can be answered with “Yes, absolutely.” In the coming days, the essence will likely be a requirement in raids and “Mythic+” content, as it represents a direct improvement to your character and is also very easy to earn.
So make the effort to pick up the essence and complete the quest so you can benefit from this enchantment in the coming months.
It is questionable whether the enchantment will help the specialization that is currently dying out.
