The late streamer Reckful receives a tribute in World of Warcraft. He will be immortalized as an NPC in the upcoming expansion.
For many long-time WoW players, it was sad news when, a few weeks ago, the streamer Byron Daniel Bernstein, known to most as Reckful, passed away. After a few weeks, Blizzard has now implemented a new NPC in Shadowlands to commemorate the streamer.
Who was Reckful for WoW players? In the World of Warcraft community, Reckful was regarded as a prodigy. He was not only a great rogue player who was the first player ever to achieve a quite impressive PvP rating of 3,000 points, but he also entertained thousands with his streams and videos. He is considered one of the more positive influences in the streaming community.
Shortly after his death in early July, voices arose wishing that Blizzard would immortalize him in World of Warcraft.
How to find Reckful soon: In the current beta of Shadowlands, a character named “Reckful” has now been added. This is a human rogue trainer in the Cathedral of Stormwind, the capital of the Alliance. Visually, Reckful corresponds to the character that the player played for many years.
The role of Reckful in WoW is that of a regular rogue trainer, but she has a few special lines that set the character apart from other trainers.

For example, the Reckful NPC states that he would not train assassination rogues. Players also have the option to select a small dialogue box and tell Reckful that it was “good to see you again.” For many players, this will probably just be a typical farewell phrase to end an NPC dialogue. However, those who know the story behind it may see more in the words.
Why is Reckful in the Cathedral? The Cathedral is an unusual place for class trainers, especially considering a rogue trainer. The reason for this is likely that many players had gathered in the Cathedral of Stormwind after the streamer’s death to commemorate Reckful. Therefore, this location was presumably chosen as the position for the NPC.
