If you want to level quickly in Patch 8.1.5 of World of Warcraft, you need a lot of gold. Because the new heirlooms are expensive!
When it comes to leveling twinks or alternate characters, many players want to progress as quickly as possible. Especially in World of Warcraft, there are numerous ways to speed up leveling if you prepare a bit. One of these ways is the heirlooms, which allow characters to gain more experience points while leveling. However, these need to be upgraded. This is possible with Patch 8.1.5.
Most expensive upgrade so far: Most heirlooms only go up to level 60 in their base version; after that, they no longer scale with the player and become unusable. This can be changed by “upgrading” the corresponding heirlooms, making them usable for higher levels. In the past, these upgrades cost between 1,000 and 7,500 gold, depending on the level. For the level range from 110 to 120, it will be significantly more expensive:
- An armor upgrade costs 15,000 gold
- A weapon upgrade costs 22,500 gold
This represents a tripling of the costs of the last upgrade – back then, armor only cost 5,000 gold and weapons 7,500 gold.
Players are outraged: On Reddit, players are expressing significant criticism of these gold amounts. With Battle for Azeroth, many players are currently operating at a “loss” and are having great difficulties saving gold. Equipping a twink for the level range from 110 to 120 would cost around 100,000 gold pieces. Players want alternatives to earn the upgrades.
