The sword of the fallen titan that pierced the world in World of Warcraft is gigantic. You can see it across several zones!
Those who are among the lucky or effective players who have already cleared the latest raid of World of Warcraft, Antorus, the Burning Throne, will have noticed some changes in Azeroth.
As revealed by the concluding cinematic of the raid, Sargeras pierces the crust of Azeroth with his sword, deeply penetrating the planet. The impact point of the blade is Silithus – the desert area adjacent to Ahn’Qiraj.
In fact, Sargeras’ blade is so gigantic that it can be seen almost across the entire continent. It is still visible from Mulgore.
The Deepest Fall in World of Warcraft
At the same time, the sword’s hilt represents one of the highest points in World of Warcraft. Those who fly all the way to the top and jump down from there – for whatever reason – are in free fall for almost a minute.
However, Sargeras’ attack has also claimed some victims. Almost all NPCs that were based in Silithus have perished due to the attack. Particularly tragic for lore fans is the death of Ralo’shan the Eternal Guardian. This NPC stood watch for millennia and is one of the few characters who were actually resurrected countless times. Time and again, she awoke at the exact same spot after her death. Now she lies dead on the ground with the message “It seems that her long watch has finally ended.”.

Not much is left of Silithus itself. The world is bleeding, and all life – including quests – has been wiped out. Anyone who wishes can view the area at the entrance to Un’goro Crater in its former glory.
What do you think of this drastic change to the game world? Does the blade in Azeroth’s crust look cool? Or is it too outrageous for you?
