A small patch for WoW: Battle for Azeroth has major implications. There are now more Azerite bonuses for all players!
Anyone who has already reached level 120 in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is surely busy collecting artifact power (or “Azerite power”) for the Heart of Azeroth. Because only by doing so can you unlock special bonuses in chest, shoulder, and head armor. Blizzard has now reduced these requirements.
Less level for initial bonuses. For example, let’s take shoulder armor with item level 340. This armor has four bonuses that can be unlocked. The first bonus was available from a Heart of Azeroth at level 18 – most players have not even reached that yet. The necessary levels have now been reduced.
- Outer Ring: Required Level 15 (previously 18)
- Middle Ring: Required Level 19 (previously 21)
- Inner Ring: Required Level 23 (previously 24)
- Center: Required Level 27 (Previously 27 – unchanged)
The changes are different for all pieces of armor. On average, the first bonus is now available 3 to 6 levels earlier.
Why was the level reduced? Anyone who received items with item level 340 could not even unlock the first ability at this time. The required level for the Heart of Azeroth was between 16 and 18 – just for the first ability. This meant that the new items were not an upgrade if you could not unlock bonuses.
Overall, the bonuses are still designed to be fully unlocked only over the course of weeks and months, as the Heart of Azeroth reaches higher levels. Until then, the pieces of equipment are simply not at their maximum power – just like it was with the artifact weapon in Legion.
