The Great Hippogryph Hatch attracts in World of Warcraft. Only today, the little feathered friends are available.
In World of Warcraft, one of the micro-holidays introduced with Patch 7.1.5 is taking place again today, on 23.02.2017. “The Great Hippogryph Hatch” is only active today until midnight and allows players to win a little friend who travels on the character’s shoulder.
To participate in the event, you must travel to Feralas. In the southwest of the area, the hippogryphs have built their nests and eggs of the beautiful creatures can be found everywhere. If you approach an egg and stay there, you help the hatchling break out of the shell and see the light of the world. Since it immediately thinks you are its mother, it promptly perches on your shoulder and accompanies you for 24 hours!
If 24 hours is not enough, you can extend the companion’s duration to 5 days. Look around the area until you spot the “rare” elite opponent Lorthalium – an ancient hippogryph matriarch.
She is quite powerful and can probably only be defeated alone by tanks; all other classes need a small group. As a reward for defeating her, a feather is offered, which increases the duration of the hatchling to 5 days when used. But be careful! The feather is a “summonable item”, which means if you log out for longer than 10 minutes, the feather will disappear from your inventory. It’s best to use it immediately to increase the duration of the hatchling by your side.
The little baby hippogryph often makes cute sounds and lets you know how it feels through emotes. Whether the player’s actions actually influence its mood seems rather unlikely.
Use the time to take some pictures with the hatchling – the next opportunity will not come again for a year.
