The dark Warlocks in World of Warcraft will soon cast spells more beautifully. However, it will still take some time until then …
With Patch 7.3, most casters in World of Warcraft received brand new animations. Priests can now take off quite elegantly while casting powerful healing spells or indulge in the madness of the Voidform, while Shamans majestically summon the powers of the elements.
However, one class was painfully forgotten: the Warlock. As the only spellcasting class, they still have to deal with outdated animations while their raid colleagues are shining in new glory.
In the Developer Q&A with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas and Community Manager Josh Allen, a variety of questions about the future of the class were answered.
Warlock animations in the Pre-Patch for Battle for Azeroth
New Warlock animations are already in development. If everything goes according to plan, Warlocks will receive their new animations with the Pre-Patch for Battle for Azeroth – that is, the major Patch 8.0, which will be released a few weeks before the new expansion. Current speculation suggests that this will happen in late summer 2018.
Warlocks can also look forward to some additional changes, at least if they have dedicated themselves to Demonology.
This specialization has only moderately satisfied Blizzard, which is why the developers want to revise the Demonology Warlock. The main problem was that the feeling of being a “great master over the demons” was not properly conveyed. This will likely mean some changes to talents and abilities.
Are you looking forward to the new animations for Warlocks? Or rather, the rework of Demonology?
