The fourth and final cinematic of the “Afterlife” series from World of Warcraft has been released and shows what is happening with the Venthyr.
In the lead-up to the upcoming WoW expansion “Shadowlands”, Blizzard is releasing short cinematics that introduce individual areas and their backstory. Just a few minutes ago, the last cinematic “Afterlife: Revendreth” has debuted and explains what is going on in the strange vampire afterlife.
What is Revendreth? Revendreth is one of the countless realms of the Shadowlands. Here, souls that have sinned but are not fundamentally evil end up. Characters who have simply made questionable decisions over the years or whose good intentions were achieved through “evil” means find themselves in Revendreth.
The corresponding souls arrive in Revendreth with a “Sinstone” on their back and must then atone. This happens in various ways and is likely to remind many of a kind of purgatory – it is usually not pleasant.
This is what can be seen in the cinematic: The cinematic shows the current state of Revendreth and features the current leader giving a speech. The speech discusses the state of Revendreth and explains the measures taken to ensure that the Venthyr can still be provided with resources even during the Anima drought.
In this, we see tormented souls, such as that of Garrosh, but also Venthyr who must exercise restraint to ensure that the elite continues to be supplied with Anima.

Is there more to come? Due to the CGI image of the Jailer released in a gaming magazine, the theory arose that there might be another cinematic in the coming weeks. This could shed more light on the story of the Jailer and bring some clarity to the main villain of Shadowlands. If it happens, we will of course report on it.
