The race for the ‘World First’ in Hardcore mode of WoW Classic is over. Less than 3 days after the launch, the first player reaches level 60.
A new game mode has just launched in World of Warcraft. In ‘Classic Hardcore’, the characters have only one life – if you die, you stay dead. There are no spirit healers, no soul stones, and no other form of resurrection.
Harsh conditions – but one player mastered them faster than anyone else and achieved level 60 before the third day after the release had passed.
Who made it? The winner of the race is the gnome mage named Vitochie from the American realm Defias Pillager. After 69 hours and 53 minutes, the feat was accomplished, and he reached level 60 as the world’s first character in the throne room of Stormwind – being celebrated by many fans in the process.
Vitochie has clearly left all other players behind – the next best player had only reached level 57 at the time of Vitochie’s “level 60”.
What has Vitoche played? He decided on a frost specialization for leveling the mage that focuses on AoE. Such a talent choice is standard for mages in WoW Classic, as it allows you to kill large groups of enemies relatively reliably.
However, this specialization is considered too dangerous by most players. Anyone who does not play it flawlessly and makes even one mistake can quickly meet their end. This is not a problem in regular Classic; in the case of WoW Hardcore, it would mean the end of the character.
Generally, “AoE leveling” in the Hardcore variant of WoW is something that very few dare to attempt – especially over so many hours where one must always be fully focused.
Have you checked out WoW Hardcore as well? How far did you get before your character bit the dust?
Many have kicked the bucket quite early – 90,000 died in the first 24 hours.
