Things are not going well in World of Warcraft. Login issues and lags during various actions make the experience unpleasant.
Update, 2:15 PM: The problem seems to be resolved, login is possible again.
Original report: Since today’s maintenance work (03.01.2024) there are some issues in World of Warcraft. Many players are complaining about login problems and are grumbling that regular playing is almost impossible right now.
What kind of problems are occurring? For many, even logging in seems to be impossible. Authentication fails, no server list is displayed, or the loading screen doesn’t fill up.

As long as you are in the game, fights seem to run mostly without problems – there are hardly any errors here. However, other actions cause frustration:
- Logging in may not proceed with a full loading bar.
- Immediately after logging in, there is a disconnect and you have to log in again.
- Switching a zone or using an environmental vehicle can also lead to disconnects.
The auction house is extremely slow. Requests can take several minutes, and posting auctions is not possible at all.
Not all errors seem to be occurring equally among all players.
What does Blizzard say? Blizzard is already aware of these problems and is trying to identify the errors and work on a solution. Usually, it only takes a few hours to resolve such issues.
How is the community reacting? The community is currently rather angry – as usual with server issues. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that many people are still on holiday or vacation and want to spend their last free days extensively with their hobby. When playing is not possible, this leads to frustration.
