The last season of Dragonflight in World of Warcraft makes the fans satisfied. Especially one feature is popular – and there is a wish for it to stay.
The fourth and thus final season of Dragonflight has been running for almost three weeks. As established in Shadowlands, the final season of an expansion is slightly accelerated. It offers more variety through a multitude of raids and simultaneously allows for significantly faster equipment collection, so that all characters can quickly get the best out of themselves.
However, one feature is so popular that many say: “It is the best thing that has happened to raiding in a long time.”
What is this feature? It is about the Ancient Bronze Bars, of which each character can earn one per week – sometimes a few more with a corresponding weekly quest. Each 2 bronze bars can be exchanged for powerful equipment, namely raid trinkets and weapons.
This way, every character can specifically work towards equipment and can guarantee to buy a strong trinket or weapon every two weeks, without having to rely on dice luck or RNG.
Originally, the purchasable items have a relatively low item level, but they can be upgraded up to 12 times – and then belong to the best items currently available in the game.
Why is this feature so popular? Basically, it feels good to be able to work towards specific items. Especially trinkets and weapons are often considered “rare” loot and are extremely sought after. When these items drop from a boss, many characters often roll for them and the chances of getting the loot are correspondingly low. Not to mention that these items require significant performance from a large group of players at a high level as well.
This is how the community discusses: In the WoW subreddit, the bronze bars are hotly debated.
For the first time in WoW’s history, it feels like I’m getting items in a reasonable time. Nothing felt worse than raiding for 8 hours on several days just to end up with 0 items because of bad dice luck.
Now, with the bronze bars, I’m having fun raiding again – I know that even if the raid doesn’t give me an item, I can choose an item every other week. (…)
At the same time, the bronze bars also provide all heroes with easier access to the coveted raid trinkets. These trinkets are often the “best in slot” and therefore interesting for everyone who otherwise only plays Mythic+.
Although “Mythic+” dungeons often have solid alternatives, anyone who wants to get the most out of their character cannot avoid raids. This often stands in stark contrast to the preferred playstyle – namely short, snappy M+-dungeons and not hours-long raids with all the problems that can accompany them.
x0nnex sees it similarly, writing:
The best thing that has happened to raiding? Can you imagine how great that is for M+-players? I can finally have access to raid trinkets!
Some also wish that this feature would be permanent and not just at the end of an expansion, like GummyLorde:
I wish it would exist in every season and not just in season 4. At least in some form (so that people are not super strong in week 2). The fact that season 4 is a bit crazier with more equipment and fun is great, and I enjoyed that in Shadowlands as well.
However, some also note that this acceleration can only exist in the final season of an expansion. Otherwise, the content would be too quickly completed if everyone had their “best in slot” equipment everywhere after just 4 weeks. This is only possible in season 4 of patch 10.2.7.
How do you like the final season of Dragonflight? Would you like a feature like the bronze bars to be permanent in every season?
