The turbo leveling in World of Warcraft has been nerfed. The “dungeon boosting” is no longer worth it.
In World of Warcraft, there are many methods to level up quickly. Whether it’s traditional questing, visiting dungeons, island expeditions, or PvP. However, one of the fastest methods has now been drastically nerfed. Those visiting dungeons with incomplete groups now receive less XP than before.
What has changed? Enemies in dungeons now grant the same amount of experience points per player, regardless of the group size. Previously, enemies had a value of experience points that was distributed among all players. The fewer players in the group, the more experience points individual characters received.
Now all players always receive the same value of XP, regardless of the group size. So it is no longer worthwhile to tackle a dungeon with only 2 or 3 players.
Why did Blizzard do this? Blizzard has fixed a bug that arose primarily due to the Pre-Patch 9.0. Due to the scaling of dungeons, some “extreme leveling tactics” were possible. Blizzard wants dungeons to still be seen as a lucrative means of leveling up, but not overshadow all other methods at the same time.
What does this mean? For most players, this is likely of little relevance. Those who normally play dungeons with 5-player groups will not feel any change, as the experience points gained remain the same.
Only those who have been “boosted” and march through dungeons with smaller groups of 2-4 players will now receive significantly less experience points.
Boosters themselves are of course missing a nice source of income, as some players simply let themselves be pulled through a dungeon to quickly reach level 50 without doing much. Booster players could demand a lot of gold when pulling others through dungeons.
Leveling is already fast: Basically, it should be noted that leveling in World of Warcraft has been extremely fast since Patch 9.0. Anyone who takes a weekend can quickly get their character to level 50. Experienced players can even accomplish this in the span of a single evening.
Did you often use the leveling method through dungeons? Or do you prefer to level in a totally terrible way?
