WoW has bad news for everyone who finds dungeons really annoying [Update]

If you have no desire for Delves in World of Warcraft, there’s some bad news. Because soon you’ll have to do more of it.

Update 8:45 AM: Blizzard has confirmed in the official WoW forum that this is a bug. The requirements for Delves and the associated treasure chamber will remain at 2 / 4 / 8 completions per week in the season. How the bug occurred on the PTR is still unclear.

Original report: One of the biggest new features of World of Warcraft: The War Within was the Delves. Even though there was a lot of chaos and balance issues at the beginning, the Delves have improved significantly through some patches and are particularly attractive for solo fans. However, a lot will change – you will need to visit even more Delves in Patch 11.1.

What is changing? The PTR is active, and some changes that Blizzard will make in Season 2 of The War Within can already be seen. Perhaps the biggest change to the Delves: To unlock all 3 options of the weekly treasure chamber in the “World” category, you must complete a total of 12 activities. Or, more clearly stated: For the maximum rewards, you must complete 12 Delves per week.

All 3 options are harder to achieve, as they will require more activities:

• 1st place: 3 activities (World Events or Delves) – an increase of 1
• 2nd place: 6 activities (World Events or Delves) – an increase of 2
• 3rd place: 12 activities (World Events or Delves) – an increase of 4

This means that you’ll need to play significantly more in the future to have all options available.

Note that this is currently information from the PTR. A lot can still change before the release of Patch 11.1 Undermine(d).

Why is this annoying? Delves are a new feature from The War Within that has largely divided the community.

Many love the Delves because they can acquire good gear at their own pace, even solo. As small “solo dungeons,” anyone can achieve success based on their own willingness, time, and skill, earning solid rewards without social pressure.

However, many others found the Delves annoying. Especially at the start of a season, completing Delves can feel like a “tedious chore” to have as many options in the treasure chamber as possible.

For this reason, there is also a small uproar that one must spend even more time in the Delves for maximum rewards. In addition, only “rich” Delves provide the full reward. However, you can only visit 4 per day. So, if you want to complete all 12 Delves for the treasure chamber, you must do 4 Delves on at least 3 days a week. That’s quite a significant time investment compared to other categories that can basically be completed in one evening or at most two.
But Patch 11.1 also brings good improvements – the Warband will receive cool cosmetic upgrades.
