All of a sudden, World of Warcraft annoys a raid that has been running for over 6 months again. Is Blizzard giving a little Christmas gift here?
Actually, the raid “Eternal Palace” has been live for almost half a year, so one might think that the raid is balanced. However, Blizzard sees it differently now and is implementing a small hotfix that alters the (currently) latest raid of World of Warcraft. Three bosses are being simplified, making them easier to handle in mythic difficulty going forward.
What will be changed? Overall, there are changes to these three bosses, which will be weakened in the future.
- Orgozoa
- Orgozoa now has fewer hit points on mythic difficulty.
- The hit points of the adds in the fight against Orgozoa have been reduced by 5% on mythic difficulty.
- The Queen’s Court
- The hit points of Silivaz and Pashmar have been reduced by 5% on mythic difficulty.
- Queen Azshara
- The charging of the Ancient Protection or draining of Azshara’s rune now only reduces the player’s maximum hit points by 8% per stack (previously 10%) across all difficulties.
The above-mentioned changes go live with the weekly restart of the realms (meaning overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday).
The Eternal Palace raid is also one of the problems that patch 8.3 might have.
What are the consequences of the nerfs? Essentially, the nerfs make all the aforementioned boss fights easier and faster to complete. In the case of Queen Azshara, players can now take more stacks per character before they reach the critical level of their hit points. This makes the fight a bit more forgiving. It doesn’t mean instant doom if a player accidentally collects 7 stacks instead of 5.
Why is this nerf coming now? Blizzard has not provided a specific reason. However, these adjustments could be seen as a small “gift” for the holidays – for all players still working on achievements. After the Christmas season in January, patch 8.3 Visions of N’Zoth will be released soon. Then the next raid “Ny’alotha” will come, and thus, some achievements in the Eternal Palace will no longer be obtainable. The nerf is basically a “last boost” so that some guilds can still achieve the mythic kill.
Will you try again to defeat Azshara on mythic difficulty before patch 8.3 arrives? Or does it leave you cold?
