WoW-Guide Schnapprückenkrabbler: So bekommt ihr das Mount

Patch 8.2 introduced a particularly cool mount in World of Warcraft. We will tell you how to get the Snapback Crabbler and ride a brilliant crab.

The current patch of World of Warcraft is packed with content designed to keep players engaged in Azeroth for a long time. Much of it is connected to long farming sessions and dedication. But some rewards are definitely worth the effort, such as the new crab mount.

To obtain it, you must complete the huge meta achievement “Underwater Usurper.” This can take several months, but with our step-by-step guide, you will experience a bit of progress each day.

What rewards are there? Those who complete the Underwater Usurper achievement will not only receive the cool crab mount Snapback Crabbler but also the title “[PlayerName] of the Depths.” However, to obtain these rewards, you need to complete a long list. The whole endeavor is likely to take between 2 and 3 months.

What achievements are required? For the meta achievement, completing 17 additional achievements is necessary. Here they are:

It is important that you complete all these achievements on a single character. As of now, the achievement is not account-wide. So, you should focus on one character.

The meta achievement: Underwater Usurper

For each of the individual sub-achievements, we have some tips and instructions for you.

Tour through the Depths

The Tour through the Depths should be completed automatically within about a week of your arrival in Nazjatar if you keep an eye on the surroundings. This is basically an “entry achievement” for which you need to complete most of the base content. This includes:

Complete a quest for your faction in Nazjatar
Learn more about the Seer Stones of Nazjatar
Level a companion in Nazjatar to level 5
Find Mrrl and assist him
Defeat a world boss in Nazjatar
Defeat one of Azshara’s champions
Defeat a creation from Mardivas’ laboratory

Azshara’s champions are the blue and elite world quests in Nazjatar. You can find Mardivas’ laboratory at coordinates 60 / 32. The quest there can be completed once a week. All other components of the achievement are self-explanatory or will be automatically done by playing in Nazjatar.

Only Rares are True

For this achievement, you must defeat all rare enemies in Nazjatar at least once. This could take many days, but you should tackle it last. Many of the rare spawns will be encountered automatically while completing the other achievements.

We recommend the addon: “TomCat’s Tours: Rares of Nazjatar,” which you can download here at Curse. The addon shows you the possible positions of most rare enemies on the world map. Please be aware that rare enemies in Nazjatar can have a long respawn time.

It can take several hours if you are specifically waiting for a single enemy. Therefore, you should complete this part of the achievement towards the end, as you should have met most rare enemies by then.

A few tips regarding “special” rare spawns:

Only one of the Hydra Matriarchs is available each day. If you are missing one, you will need to keep an eye out each day to see which one is active.
The four Coral Whisperers (Anemonar, Tangwurz, Oronu, and Urduu) have special spawn conditions, which we have explained in the article.
The Voice in the Depths appears when you interact with certain stones while carrying a Cast-off Shell. The exact location is at coordinates 67 / 35.
The Rockweed Dredger is particularly rare. He can appear almost anywhere on the map instead of a “Missing Algan” or a “Rebellious Algan.” Just fly around and kill all Algans, and he will appear eventually.
Tide Lord Dispersius and Tide Lord Aquatus can appear in the Azsh’ari Terrace. There, you must kill 3 “Summoners of Azsh’ari” who are channeling a spell and summoning a water orb. Once all three are dead, one of the two rares can appear, although a regular elite elemental can also spawn.
Tide Mistress Leth’sindra appears in the northeastern part of the map, in the caves with the tentacle creatures and many Void Eggs. There are 5 eggs you can click on (they look the same as the others). After clicking on 5 of them, this rare will spawn.
King Gakula will only appear in the Murloc village if you scare enough tadpoles. You can combine this well with the other achievement “Fight the Tadpoles.”

Chest Searching

For this achievement, you must find all hidden chests in Nazjatar. 20 of them are easily accessible, while the other 8 are special chests protected by various mini-games. You must complete the mini-game before you can loot the respective chest.

The exact locations of all chests can be found in the graphic below. Please note that you will need to have unlocked flying for some chests. You should tackle this part only after you can explore Nazjatar from the air.

Collecting all chests rewards you with a very special daily loot box.

Fight the Tadpoles

This achievement is easy to complete and takes just about an hour. Head to the Murloc village in the northwest of Nazjatar (just above Ashen Strand). There you will find not only hostile Murlocs but also plenty of “green” Murlocs with whom you can interact. This will scare the young Murlocs and drive them through the village. However, this also attracts the wrath of other Murlocs and can ultimately summon the rare enemy King Gakula.

If you scare a total of 100 young Murlocs, you will receive the achievement.

Clairvoyant Landmarks

For this achievement, you must find at least 100 treasures while using a Seer Stone. You can loot these stones from all rare enemies, although they do not always have one with them.

The use of the Seer Stone is not clearly explained in the game, so here are a few tips: Once you use a Seer Stone, you gain a buff for 5 minutes. This allows you to discover chests throughout Nazjatar.

The catch: the chests are not immediately visible. You have to get close to a hidden chest first. Then you get an additional ability in the middle of the screen that you must use to reveal the chest.

Now you can loot the chest. Most of these chests contain a lot of junk, although sometimes they also contain reputation items, mana pearls, or benthic gear.

Some chests are particularly helpful, so keep an eye on your buff bar, because:

Some chests renew the Seer Stone buff and reset the timer to 5 minutes.
Some chests give you a second buff, allowing you to see all hidden chest locations on the minimap for 2 minutes. This greatly eases the gathering process and can lead to a whole chain of chest openings.
Some chests grant buffs like speed or invisibility, which are even not canceled when mounted. This allows you to get around faster without having to fight enemies that waste valuable time.

We had good experiences with the Seer Stones in the east of Nazjatar. There are many “neutral” enemies who will not hinder you and a high density of chests.

Back to the Depths!

You will check off this step when you complete the mini-scenario “Called from the Depths” 10 times. The start of the scenario is announced by an emote that can be read throughout the area. The scenario is quite rare but seems to follow a fixed rhythm.

Based on current observations, it appears that the scenario starts exactly one hour after the beginning of the PvP event in Nazjatar. So at the following times:

1:00 AM
4:00 AM
7:00 AM
10:00 AM
1:00 PM
4:00 PM
7:00 PM
10:00 PM

The scenario itself is quite simple but requires at least 3-5 players, as the enemies become too strong otherwise. You just need to defeat all Naga and then the appearing boss. The location of the event is marked on the map with a purple skull icon. First, defeat the Naga and then the boss to succeed.

Explore Nazjatar

This achievement is self-explanatory and you will earn it while playing normally. You only need to reveal the entire map of Nazjatar and visit each location once. There should be no problems as the quest lines will lead you to almost all places. Completing world quests will also take you to unexplored areas.

Underwater Support

This sub-achievement should also be completed through regular gameplay. Just take all the quests at your faction’s camp every day and complete them. Whenever you need to gather resources (like sea stars, driftwood, or similar), you will gain progress for this achievement at the end. Complete a total of 30 of these quests and you will have completed this step. This should be doable within 7-10 days.

Glass Paws

To complete this step, a bit of exploration and targeted action is necessary. You need to find 10 (very small) cat figures, which are partly located in very hidden places and caves in Nazjatar. While a flying mount is helpful, it is not essential.

Nazjatabularasa

This achievement is relatively simple but requires you to log in every day for about 2 weeks and check the world quests in Nazjatar. You need to defeat all champions of Azshara.

There are always a maximum of two active at the same time (one solo world quest and one group world quest). The champions rotate daily, so after about 2 weeks, you should have defeated them all.

Aquatic Slaughter Hunt

This sub-achievement is also relatively simple but will take the most time. It requires you to level all your companions in Nazjatar to rank 30. You can only select one of the three companions each day and complete 3 quests with him, which will then grant one rank. If you complete quests every day, you will need exactly 90 days to bring all three companions to rank 30.

You can speed this up a bit with various collectible items that we have introduced in this article.

Another tip: You should not level the first companion to level 30 but instead switch to another companion at level 25 or 26. Because while leveling the other companions, you will still find XP items that you can give to the first companion. This way no XP is lost and you save a bit more time.

A Handful of Mana Pearls

As the name of the achievement suggests, you need to collect a lot of mana pearls to complete this achievement. You need to loot a total of 1,000 Prismatic Mana Pearls through quests, from treasure chests, or as loot from rare mobs to wrap up this part.

That sounds like a lot but should happen quite naturally while you complete other parts of this achievement. Just leveling your companions (see above) should already yield around 1,000 mana pearls.

In-Vitro-Elimination

For this achievement, you need to defeat all creatures that can be summoned through different combinations of crystals in Mardivas’ laboratory.

To activate the various crystals you will need the resources that occasionally drop in Nazjatar. These are:

Strange Mineralized Water
Strange Sea Sediment
Strange Volcanic Rock

With these resources, you can activate the lower and larger arcane crystals. Each small and large combination creates a creature. You can find the exact combinations in the table below. Please keep in mind that you must always activate the lower crystal before you can use a large crystal.

Each week, you can only summon and defeat one of the creatures. So it will also take many weeks to complete all combinations.

Mrrl’s Secret Stash

For Mrrl’s Secret Stash, you need some luck. Because the Murloc Mrrl in the respective camp of Horde and Alliance has a changing offer every day. You need to purchase the “Blood-red Tidecharger” from him. However, this mount can only be bought on certain days and there are many criteria that must be met.

First, you need a benthic cloak, the Stormweaver Cape of Azsh’ari. This item has the addition: “Equip: You have access to the special supplies of the Murloc traders.” You can randomly acquire such a cloak when converting Benthic Equipment Tokens (for cloaks). If in doubt, you can buy several of them for Prismatic Mana Pearls until the right one appears.

Put on the cloak and check with Mrrl in your camp if he is selling the Tidecharger.

If so, you need to go to Murloco’s Hideout. This is a cave at coordinates 46 / 32. Every few hours, a small in-game event occurs there. You must defeat several Naga in the cave. Afterward, the Murloc Murloco will be available for 5 minutes. Wear the cloak to purchase the Tentacle Taco of the Hungry Herald.

Alternatively, you can also open the group search and look for “Murloco.” Kind players often create a group when Murloco is active on their server – you should do this too, as it would be kind!

Now you return to your faction’s camp. You will need to trade a lot of items back and forth with the Murlocs in the camp. Follow these exact steps to ensure you end up with all the necessary resources.

Afterwards, you go to Mrrl and trade 4x Small Finger of the Cultist, 2x Pulsating Bloodstone, and 1x Tentacle Taco of the Hungry Herald for the mount Blood-red Tidecharger.

Puzzle Friend

For this achievement, you will need a lot of time and check your world quests every day. The achievement requires you to solve all of Mardivas’s puzzles, which are all tied to world quests. Just complete all the puzzle world quests (the “Bejeweled” games or the unraveling) and at some point, you will have the achievement.

Currently, there seems to be a bug with this part of the achievement, as some players report that they cannot complete parts of the achievement. A fix from Blizzard is awaited here.

Anchorite of the Sea Blade / The Unleashed

This sub-achievement is simple and will be automatically earned while playing continuously in Nazjatar. You just need to reach a revered reputation with the Anchorites or the Unleashed. This will happen on its own after a few weeks as you work towards completing the other parts of the achievement.

Deep Sunken / Sunken Adventures

This last achievement is rather termed as “a walk in the park” as it will likely be one of the first you obtain. You only need to complete the story quest lines that culminate in the conquest of the Tide Stone and thus access to Azshara’s Eternal Palace.

Once you have completed all these steps, you can enjoy the new title and a pretty exclusive mount, the Snapback Crabbler! Only a few players will likely undertake these efforts.
