A new hidden toy has been found in World of Warcraft. You can unlock it in just a few minutes – and we will show you how to do it.
World of Warcraft is full of little secrets. Even with Patch 10.1.5 Rifts in Time, Blizzard has added a few of them to the game. One of them is a toy that hides behind a small but fine secret: The Investigator’s Pocket Watch.
What kind of toy is this? The Investigator’s Pocket Watch, unlike many other toys, has no cooldown and lasts for 60 minutes. That alone is a rarity in WoW, where toys usually have short durations with long cooldowns. When used, your character is shrouded in the sands of time, gaining a bronze-golden hue and becoming transparent – more so on the legs than on the torso.
This appearance is familiar from bronze dragons or enemies that act from another timeline.
The actual secret can be solved in just under two minutes – provided you have already completed the preceding questline.
Step 1: Complete the Quests
Head to the coordinates 55 / 82 in the Thaldraszus area. There are several NPCs around a fountain with some questlines for you. It’s best to complete them all since only then will the Mecha-Gnome Melly Teletone move to her new position.
The questlines are all quite short but fun. If you’re not in a hurry, take your time with them as they contain some funny stories.
Step 2: Reveal the Secret
Once you have completed the quests, travel to the “Everywhen Inn”. In this inn, Chromie or other NPCs give you a daily quest every day. It’s slightly above the fountain where you were before. Ignore the quest and instead head to the upper floor of the inn on the right side.
There you can see Melly Teletone sitting on a chair. Talk to her and tell her that you want to borrow the “Metronograph”. You will then receive “Melly’s Metronograph+++” as long as you stay in the inn.
Now head back down to the lower level of the inn and go to the innkeeper Bob. Activate the Metronograph here.
Step 3: Blob’s Beverages
If you did everything correctly, there should now be a large golden slime next to the innkeeper Bob – the innkeeper Blob from another timeline.
Talk to him and buy “Infinitea”.
Attention: A timer starts running from the moment of purchase, as the drink remains in your inventory for only 30 seconds!
Step 4: Defeat the Investigator
Leave the inn with the Infinitea in hand, hop on your dragon, and fly immediately to the coordinates 54 / 85. This is at the base of a waterfall. Drink your Infinitea here and you will receive a temporary buff that allows you to discover a grandfather clock in the water that you can click on.
Once you click the clock, the “Temporal Investigator” spawns – a crocodile from another timeline. Be careful, the mob has a lot of health points and bites hard. You will need good gear or a group to be able to defeat the mob.
Once you have defeated the Temporal Investigator, he should definitely drop the Investigator’s Pocket Watch for you, which you can immediately add to your collection.
Congratulations!
Some players report that the pocket watch does not drop directly on the first kill. However, this seemed to be a bug that has since been fixed. If you don’t get the watch on the first day, just try again the next day.
