For the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft, there is a stylish phoenix as a mount. We will tell you how to unlock the mount quickly.
In addition to the stylish Tier 2 sets in HD quality, there is another highlight at the twentieth anniversary of World of Warcraft – the pretty mount called Coldflame Storm. In this guide, we show you how to complete the 8 necessary steps to permanently add this mount to your collection.
What kind of mount is this? The Coldflame Storm is a blue-colored phoenix equipped with silver armor. The phoenix is reminiscent of the Ashes of Al’ar, one of the most popular mounts of all time – just in Blizzard’s blue colors.
You can only earn the mount during the 20th anniversary celebrations of WoW, which lasts until early January 2025.
What do you have to do for Coldflame Storm? To permanently unlock Coldflame Storm for your collection, you need to complete one of the larger meta-achievements of the event. The achievement is called Cool Twenty Years
(“A Cool Twenty Years”). This requires 8 different steps. But don’t worry: Most steps can be completed in a few minutes, so most of you should be able to unlock the mount in one evening.
Unlocking the mount Coldflame Storm – All steps
You can complete most of the steps in Tanaris. The celebrations take place in front of the Caverns of Time where most of the activities you need for the achievement are located. If an achievement cannot be completed there, it will be noted in the respective step.
Note that the required events, such as the mount show, rotate regularly. You can always see at the top of the screen which event is next.
I Have that One!: In the mount show, you must mount the mount that is being demonstrated by the NPC at least once. The larger your mount collection, the sooner this will be the case. Sooner or later, a mount will appear that you probably also own. Just mount simultaneously with NPC Abigail Cyrildotr and you’ll have completed this part.
Fashion Critic: Vote at least once in the transmog competition.
Pet Mischief: Use a pet mirror on a battle pet to assume its appearance. You can find the mirror in the pet corner of the celebrations.
Balloonist: Fly with one of the celebration balloons found at the festival grounds in Tanaris.
Peanut Gallery: Listen to the stories from Lorekeeper Cho and react 50 times to his stories. You will need to listen to several stories to reach 50 reactions.
An Original: Defeat one of the vanilla world bosses of the event. This can either be one of the nightmare dragons, Azuregos, or Lord Kazzak. You can see which boss is currently active on the world map. These bosses are located not in Tanaris, but in different places like Feralas or Azshara.
A Gatecrasher: Defeat one of the newer event world bosses. Sha of Anger, Corrupted Fire or Archavon the Stone Watcher. You can find these world bosses directly in Tanaris.
Codex Editor: Ahn’Qiraj: Complete the Ahn’Qiraj scenario with Chromie once. You can simply sign up for this via the dungeon browser. The scenario takes 10-20 minutes, depending on how good your group is.
If you have completed all these tasks, you will unlock the achievement “A Cool Twenty Years” and can look forward to your new phoenix mount. Afterwards, you can turn your attention to the numerous other activities of the anniversary – because there’s a lot to do in the 2 ½ months that the event is active.
