The 3rd wing of the Ny’alotha raid in World of Warcraft is open. We will tell you how to easily defeat Shad’har, Drest’agath, and Il’gynoth.
In World of Warcraft, the 3rd wing of the current raid Ny’alotha opened today (February 26, 2020) for the LFR difficulty. This is the big raid from patch 8.3 Visions of N’Zoth. This means that all players can tackle three new bosses to acquire cool loot and experience the next part of the story of the Black Empire. To ensure you aren’t the infamous “one idiot” in the LFR who doesn’t know the mechanics, we have a few quick tips for you to familiarize yourself with the key mechanics of the boss fights.
How to defeat Shad’har, Drest’agath, and Il’gynoth in Ny’alotha
The new wing comes with 3 bosses and increases the difficulty slightly. The fights in LFR are still not particularly complex; however, you should be aware of at least one or two mechanics per fight.
How to defeat Shad’har: The eerie dog Shad’har has three different phases, which change at 66% and 33% of its health points. However, most of the abilities in the phases are so similar that hardly any adjustment is necessary. Just keep the following tips in mind:
- Dodge Shad’har’s breath attacks. He turns in one direction and inflicts high damage to all targets in front of him after a short delay.
- If you are affected by “Debilitating Bite”, reduce the damage taken through defensive abilities to relieve the healers.
- If you are being chased by “Living Miasma”, keep your distance from all other players, as the explosion does high damage the closer other players are to you.
- Tanks should also ensure that a tank never has both “Corrosion” and “Crush” as debuffs at the same time. Quick taunting is necessary then.
How to defeat Drest’agath: Drestagath is a fight consisting of many adds in the form of different tentacles. The peculiarity is that Drestagath regenerates all damage players deal to him as long as they do not have a special buff. Simply attacking the boss will not achieve the goal. Keep the following tips in mind:
- Kill the countless adds. They leave behind black orbs. Run through the orbs to receive the buff “Void-Infused Secret” for a short time. Only while you have this buff can you actually injure the boss.
- Ranged players should focus on “Gullet of Drest’agath” while maintaining a large distance from the tentacles.
- Melee fighters attack the “Tentacles of Drest’agath” and avoid the tentacle strikes.
- Healers should save their cooldowns until Drest’agath has accumulated 100 Agony, then use “Pain’s Twists” to deal high damage to all players.
How to defeat Il’gynoth, the Reborn Corruption: Most players may remember Il’gynoth from the Emerald Dream of Legion. However, in Ny’alotha, he has a more developed form and several new abilities. You must repeatedly defeat Il’gynoth to be able to attack his organs afterward. If you destroy 3 organs and Il’gynoth, you win the fight.
- All players must guide the laser from “Gaze of the Corruptor” so that the resulting puddles do not obstruct the rest of the raid.
- Focus on one organ of corruption in Phase 2, but interrupt all other organs to prevent too much blood from Ny’alotha from spawning (additional adds). Kill the blood if it spawns.
- Healers should try to remove the negative effect “Recurring Nightmare” from all players as soon as possible.
If you keep these tips in mind, these three bosses should not pose a significant problem. Especially with Il’gynoth, it can be helpful to explain to the raid that they cannot inflict lasting damage on the boss as long as they do not have the corresponding buff – a few lines in chat can save a lot of frustration.
