Did you delete an important item in WoW? We’ll show you how to restore it without having to involve a Game Master. Here’s how item restoration works in WoW.
Throughout the online life of a character in World of Warcraft, thousands, if not tens of thousands, of items end up in a player’s bags, which are then sold to vendors. With just one click, items can change hands. If a player has multiple sets of items in their inventory to optimize their gear for different roles, they can quickly sell an important item by mistake.
If the mistake is noticed quickly, the item can still be retrieved from the “Buy Back” option of the respective vendor, but if you let time pass or log out in between, the items are lost.
Many players panic and write a ticket, trying to resolve the issue through Blizzard’s support. However, this is not necessary, as there is already an automated system in place that doesn’t require the help of a support employee and saves time.
We’ll explain how the item restoration system works.
Restoring Items in WoW
To restore sold, deleted, or disenchanted items in World of Warcraft, you need to visit the respective page from Blizzard. Log in to this page with your Battle.net account: Link to World of Warcraft Item Restoration
There, you select your WoW account and then the server. In the dropdown menu, you will then choose the character whose items you want to restore.
Then, a long list appears with multiple pages, sorted by date of sale, destruction, or disenchantment. The list extends several months into the past, allowing sufficient time to correct a mistake.
Select all items from the list that you want to restore – multiple items can be selected at once. Confirm the process, and within a few minutes, you should receive a message in your mailbox with the desired items.
Please note that item restoration can only be done once every 15 days per Battle.net account. So think carefully about which items you want to restore.
What does item restoration cost? When restoring the items, the amount of gold received from the sale will be deducted. If you originally disenchanted the item, you will instead lose the materials obtained from it.
What are the restrictions? Stackable items are excluded from restoration; for that, you must contact Blizzard directly via ticket. Items that do not appear on the list cannot be restored. Additionally, restored armor is always soulbound – trading is no longer possible.
We hope this small guide has provided some clarity on how you can regain items in WoW after a mishap.
Do you use item restoration regularly? Or have you not made any embarrassing error over the years and checked every single sale at the vendor?
