A new raid is coming soon with Uldir to World of Warcraft. We will show you how to best equip yourself with gear. With our tips, you can ensure that your equipment is up to the best possible standard.
When is the release? With Uldir opens on September 5, the first raid of Battle for Azeroth will open its doors. You can immediately start in normal and heroic mode. Mythic mode will be available from September 12.

Raid Guide: The Best Gear for Uldir
To ensure you are not overwhelmed by the new bosses in Uldir, you should equip yourself properly. As soon as you reach level 120, you can immediately start acquiring new equipment. You have various options for this.
Equipment through Dungeons – The Best Option
In Battle for Azeroth, you can currently explore up to 10 dungeons where you can acquire gear. To prepare for the raid, you will best find armor and weapons here to prepare for Uldir.
- In normal dungeons, loot drops with item level 310+
- In heroic dungeons, loot drops with item level 325+ (ID reset daily)
- In mythic dungeons, loot drops with item level 340+ (ID reset weekly)
If you only need to improve certain equipment slots, be sure to check the Adventure Guide. Here, you can see what loot the bosses drop and search for it specifically.

Find a Group!
The dungeons become significantly easier if you team up with 4 friends and run through the dungeons together. This way, you can also bypass the item level requirement for heroic dungeons (305+) by going straight into the instance instead of searching for a random instance.
You can also directly visit the mythic dungeons. With an item level of 300, you can defeat the mythic instances with a well-coordinated group. If you already have some better-equipped friends, they can even manage with 290 or less.

Look for the Same Armor Class
If you want to acquire gear as efficiently as possible, you should plan your groups accordingly. Include as many classes as possible that share an armor or weapon class.
You can build groups entirely of leather or plate wearers, or take up to 4 cloth or mail classes. This allows items to be exchanged if they are better suited for other characters.
Even Azerite armor can now be traded.

Unlock King’s Rest and the Siege of Boralus
There are two dungeons that you do not have immediate access to, King’s Rest and the Siege of Boralus. Both dungeons are tied to the progress in the war campaign and the completion of the story:
For the Siege of Boralus, the Alliance must complete the story involving Jaina Proudmoore, for which the achievement “Kul Tourist” is required. For King’s Rest, a reputation level of 7,500/12,000 from Friendly to Revered with the 7th Legion must be reached, and the corresponding war campaign quest must be completed.
For King’s Rest, the Horde must complete the story involving Princess Talanji, for which the achievement “Zandalar Forever!” is required. For the Siege of Boralus, a reputation level of 7,500/12,000 from Friendly to Revered with the Oathsworn must be reached, and the corresponding war campaign quest must be completed.

Equipment through World Quests
World quests offer you the fastest and easiest entry into the endgame of Battle for Azeroth. You can already complete some requirements to unlock world quests while leveling, allowing you to jump almost immediately into the action at level 120.
The rewards from world quests scale with your equipment level. At first, you will find items of item level 300+ or 310+. Once you reach an item level of 325, the rewards will increase to 330+ and can potentially go up to 355 with some luck.

Strengthening the Heart of Azeroth
Through dungeons and world quests, you also receive Azerite armor with a level of up to 340. However, Azerite armor cannot become stronger upon acquisition; its level is fixed and can only be improved by enhancing the Heart of Azeroth.
To get the most out of your Azerite armor, you must also take care of the Heart of Azeroth. How you can do this efficiently, you can find out in our guide to the heart of Azeroth.
Equipment through Reputation
If you are new at level 120, the reputation vendors of your faction can also help you get started with valuable items. You will receive steadily better rewards as your reputation level increases:
- Friendly: Level 320
- Revered: Level 335
- Elders: Level 350
You can also gain reputation while leveling. However, we do not recommend specifically playing for reputation. The time you take for this would be better spent on other activities. However, you do accumulate reputation passively, so you can potentially improve your equipment later on.

Auction House and Crafting
Finally, there is also the option to buy or craft equipment. In the auction house, you will find world loot with level 350, which is offered for quite a bit of gold but usually represents a significant improvement.
Craftsmen can also create equipment and weapons. You can craft items with item level 300, or with some luck even 310, and trade them. Engineers can create goggles with item level 340, and scribes can create the Darkmoon card sets with item level 355, which are particularly good for many classes.
If you have already defeated some mythic dungeons, you also get Hydro cores – one per end boss. With 15 Hydro cores (less for engineering goggles), you can craft 2 pieces of equipment of item level 355 that are bind on pickup. If you complete all the dungeons, you will have both pieces in three weeks.

The Boost Before the Raid: Mythic+ and Warfronts
Together with Uldir, the mythic Keystone dungeons and warfronts will also open on September 5. If you want to improve your gear with a special piece of equipment before Uldir, make sure to check out the new features.
If you win a warfront, you can earn gear pieces with item level 370. With some luck, these can even be upgraded to item level 400, which is possible once the mythic raid is available. The faction that controls the warfront also has access to a world boss. The Alliance will be the first faction to control the warfront of Stromgarde.
In Mythic+ dungeons, you receive rewards with item level 345 starting at +2. If you master +10, this increases to 370 in the instance and 380 in the weekly chest. In any case, mythic Keystone dungeons can offer you another upgrade before Uldir.
Enchant and Socket Equipment
With Battle for Azeroth, weapon enchantments have returned. Remember to enchant your weapons and other equipment pieces like rings before you head to Uldir.
Also, do not forget that you can add sockets to new equipment if they have a socket slot.
