A new hotfix for World of Warcraft makes group searching more difficult. Even more features of the “Looking for Group” tool have been restricted.
With patch 8.0, World of Warcraft had already caused discontent. For important functions of the group search were disabled, even numerous interface addons can no longer be used. Now Blizzard has disabled yet another function of the group search via hotfix – fans are upset about it.
“Auto Accept” has disappeared. The most significant change is that the group finder no longer has an option to automatically accept requests. When someone applies to join a group, that player must be manually added. Automatic joining is no longer possible.
Players are angry. Among the players of WoW, dissatisfaction is spreading. Especially when searching for a group for rather trivial tasks, like world quests, the “Auto Accept” feature was a great benefit. It was a quick method for both the group creator and new members to swiftly join a group. There is confusion as to why Blizzard has now disabled this feature as well.
No statement from Blizzard. The developers have not yet commented on why the hotfix has disabled this feature. Thus, it is possible that this is only a temporary solution or simply an accidental bug.
In the past, Blizzard also made changes to the group finder and even banned advertising for “Sell Runs”. Too many groups blocked the display, and players had little opportunity to still find “real” groups.
What do you think about the removal of the feature? Is it good that players should pay closer attention to whom they take along? Or does it just waste unnecessary time?
