Quietly and secretly, Blizzard has unleashed the Murlocs in Azeroth. A small, gurgling monster in World of Warcraft can now be obtained.
For a long time, pet collectors in World of Warcraft had been puzzled about how they could get Squirky. This little Murloc with the somewhat unusual shape has been in the pet guide for a while, but no one really knew where exactly in the game world it appears. Since last night (May 24, 2017), we know the answer: it was not available before.
On Twitter, Jeremy “Muffinus” Feasel teased in a series of posts that something was “hatching” – shortly thereafter, the first players had managed to obtain the Murloc Squirky.
If you want to catch Squirky as a pet, you should travel to Azsuna and visit a small island far to the west. There are numerous elite Murlocs that can quickly take down cloth wearers – however, there are also many “Squirky” pets wandering around. These must be defeated in a pet battle and caught like any other pet. That’s the whole trick.
Whether Squirky is available only for a while or permanently is currently unknown.
If you can’t get enough of Murlocs, you should also check out the Blizzard store. Alongside the spawn of Squirky, there is also a plush Murloc in the shop that looks remarkably similar to the in-game counterpart.
