A dream for night elves in World of Warcraft comes true. After 18 years, you can finally look like a real warden – and that permanently.
Playing a night elf as depicted in Warcraft III – this is a long-standing dream for many players in World of Warcraft, now for almost 18 years. But with Dragonflight and the upcoming Patch 10.0.5, this dream is set to become a visual reality. The next update brings two new sets that allow your characters to run around as wardens.
What kind of set is this? The colleagues at wowhead have already identified two new sets on the PTR of Patch 10.0.5 named “Moon Warden Set” and “Sun Warden Set”.
- The “Sun Warden” set features the typical colors of night elf wardens, that is, a dark green with golden embellishments and some metallic elements.
- In contrast, the “Moon Warden” set is in silvery colors of the moon and visually resembles the attire of night elf priestesses.
What’s interesting about these sets is that they feature both a half skirt and pants – which basically doesn’t exist for players in World of Warcraft so far.
Wardens have a special role in the society of the night elves and are not only jailers of prisoners but also serve as a kind of “police” for the Kaldorei. They are responsible for tracking down criminals and usually also execute the judgment. Wardens are highly respected in the culture of the night elves, and very few manage to join this order.
How to get the sets? The current plan is to make this possible through the trading post. This is a new system being introduced with Patch 10.0.5.
At the trading post, players with active playtime regularly receive “trade currencies” at the beginning of a month and can earn more throughout the month. These currencies can then be exchanged for rewards – such as mounts, toys, pets, or special transmog sets.
As of now, these two “warden” sets will be sold for trade currencies.
Toy provides a substitute: At least temporarily, players are already able to transform their character into a warden. During the Legion expansion (and even now), players could earn the toy “Sira’s Replacement Cloak” from the “Wardens” faction. This transforms the player’s character visually into a warden for a few minutes, but has a 2-hour cooldown and is therefore only suitable for temporary transformations.
With Patch 10.0.5, a long-held night elf dream is set to come true, and everyone will be able to express their inner “Maiev” – role players will especially look forward to this new feature.
