Unicorns will soon learn to fly in World of Warcraft. This even applies retroactively – so you might already have a (soon) flying unicorn!
With the upcoming Shadowlands expansion, quite a few changes will be made in World of Warcraft. By the way, it will still be released in 2020 – confirmed by the WoW director. One of the latest updates from the Alpha involves adjustments to several mounts that will learn to fly in the future. This affects all unicorns (or “Monohorns”, as certain elves say).
Which mounts are affected? Apparently, this affects all mounts that belong to the unicorn category and share a similar model. These are:
- Luminous Nightmare
- Pureheart Charger
- Wild Dreamrunner
- All “Prestigious Chargers”
Do you already have such a mount? The different unicorns can be earned in World of Warcraft in various ways, but they are usually tied to achievements or particularly lengthy tasks. Here are a few excerpts on how you can obtain some of the amazing unicorns in World of Warcraft:
- Pureheart Charger: You need to bring 100 factions to an exalted reputation for this. This has been possible since Battle for Azeroth, but should become significantly easier with Shadowlands.
- Wild Dreamrunner: You will get this mount from the Paragon chest of the Dreamweavers in Val’sharah (Legion).
- Luminous Nightmare: You will obtain this black unicorn at the end of a very long puzzle series. We have a step-by-step guide to the Luminous Nightmare.
More mounts of this kind are expected to be available in WoW: Shadowlands, as several placeholders for them have already been found in the game files. So, there will surely be plenty for mount collectors to do again.
The dream of the flying unicorn that pulls a rainbow behind it has thus drawn a little closer.
