With patch 11.1, there’s a new weapon that many want in World of Warcraft. Because it’s ‘Best in Slots’, even when you don’t need it.
Slowly but surely, patch 11.1 Undermine(d) for World of Warcraft is coming into view. More and more information is being revealed through data mining, including the new weapons from the raid “The Liberation of Lorenhall”. One weapon is expected to be the best that you can equip – because that’s what the weapon claims.
What kind of weapon is this? The rather unusual weapon named “Best-in-Slots” is a two-handed mace that comes in two variants. The weapon is available as a Strength/Agility variant and as an Intelligence variant.
“Best in Slots” does not have secondary stats, but it does have a chance to randomly increase a secondary stat by a high value for 15 seconds. Therefore, the weapon is significantly worse than other weapons as long as the effect is not active – but likely much stronger while it is active.
The use effect is also appealing. Because in combat, you can activate the weapon every 2 minutes to instantly get a strong bonus on the currently highest secondary stat (also for 15 seconds).

If you use the weapon outside of combat, you can change its variant – for example, turning the Intelligence weapon into one for Agility or Strength.
Due to this adaptability, the weapon is likely to be sought after by Druids, Paladins, or Shamans – but perhaps Warriors and Death Knights might want it just for the Strength variant.
The name “Best-in-Slots” not only refers to gamer jargon, where a “Best in Slot” weapon is the optimum for the character, but it is also a play on words with a casino. Because the mace is of course “Best in Slots” when it simply destroys the slot machines and thus you get the win.
Are there any other effects? Yes. In the Liberation of Lorenhall, there are also several other weapons with special effects that are exclusive to this raid. Although the other weapons cannot switch between different “stances”, some have interesting properties.
Many weapons have the addition “Vile Contamination”. Weapons with this addition have a chance to debuff the target hit, causing minor shadow damage every 3 seconds. The debuff can stack up to 25 times – and lasts until the enemy is dead. This can pay off during long boss fights.
The hunt for the perfect weapon is likely to continue in Season 2 of The War Within. And even if the ultimate weapon may not be available, there are a whole series of improvements that make the new raid more enjoyable.
