The German Twitch streamer Simon “Unge” Wiefels (32) proudly announced that he has been live for 510 hours in the last 30 days. He played WoW Classic. His viewers are somewhere between admiration and concern.
Who is it about? Unge is one of the most popular German content creators. He started producing Let’s Plays in 2012 under the name “ungespielt” and gained fame mainly with the block game Minecraft. Meanwhile, he lives on Madeira and primarily creates reaction content under the name “ungeklickt”.
But now Unge has discovered the joy of streaming again: He was on air for an incredible 409 hours in September, as much as in the last 7 months combined. And there is no end in sight:
On October 19, Unge shared his Twitch statistics on Twitter. In the last 30 days, he has streamed for 500 hours – the statistics page Sullygnome even shows him at 510 hours.
To put that into perspective: 30 days have a total of 720 hours. Unge’s achievement corresponds to nearly 3 full-time jobs.
Unge is caught in the claws of the Lich King
What’s behind it? The latest expansion in WoW Classic, Wrath of the Lich King, was released on September 27 and seems to have Unge firmly in its claws. Out of his 510 streamed hours, Unge spent 439 in-game – the rest is divided between “Just Chatting” and the category “I’m Only Sleeping” (via sullygnome) – he apparently took a nap there.

WotLK has fascinated Unge.
How is the continuous streaming received? The reactions range somewhere between awe and horror. In the comments on Twitter, the term “crazy” comes up frequently, however one might interpret that. Twitter user Burrito sums it up:
That’s respectable

A bit concerning but respectable
Most seem to agree that the performance is indeed noteworthy. Fans and especially fellow streamers who know how much work goes into it tip their hats – such numbers are usually only seen during subathons (via Twitter).
More on the topic of subs can be seen in the video:
Subathons are events where streamers are on air as long as possible and are rewarded by their viewers with paid subscriptions (“subs”). However, Unge does not seem to pursue such a goal; he is simply having a lot of fun.
Already on October 12, he announced that he was having more fun streaming than ever before:
Are all reactions positive? Not everyone can celebrate in light of such numbers – some are more concerned. One Twitter user calculated that Unge is on air for over 16 hours a day and advised the streamer to take a break as well.
just over 16 hours a day. Take care of yourself. Even if it doesn’t feel like it, it’s stress for the body. Give yourself a break and take care of yourself 💚

The grind is paying off for Unge: He has climbed to 6th place among the most-watched German streamers (via sullygnome). In WoW, he is currently even the German number 1 in terms of watched hours, and worldwide he is ranked 4th (via sullygnome).
And even in WoW, his progress is impressive: In a spontaneous 150-hour stream (in one go!) Unge leveled up 2 characters to level 80:
It continues: Unge plans to be live again today, on October 19, at 20:00 – you can find the stream here.
What do you think of the action? Strong performance or rather concerning? How many hours have you spent in WotLK? What would you do with 500 hours? Feel free to leave us a comment with your opinion.
