The daily quests in the current World of Warcraft have been massively buffed. This means you will enter the Horrifying Visions much more often.
Update: This article was updated on February 26, 2020. Blizzard made an incorrect statement – The rewards for the daily quests were only increased by 30%, not 50%. The numbers in the calculations below have been updated.
A few days ago, Blizzard announced that the rewards for daily quests and the assaults from N’Zoth are to be increased so that players can enter the Horrifying Visions more often – this is the big feature of Patch 8.3 Visions of N’Zoth. Now the WoW developers have specified their plans and revealed how much the rewards will increase in the future.
This will change: With the maintenance on February 26, 2020, Blizzard increased the rewards and thus the amount of Manifested Visions received from daily quests and assaults in general. In the future, the following applies:
- Daily quests grant 30% more Manifested Visions.
- The main threat from N’Zoth (the “big” assault) gives 2,500 Manifested Visions, in addition to a Vessel of Horrifying Visions.
- The minor threats (the “small” assaults) give 6,500 Manifested Visions (previously 5,500).
Whether these changes also affect the daily quest for the “small vision” is still unclear.
What does this mean exactly? To better understand, here are a few examples based on the numbers:
- Due to the change, the reward for a single daily quest increases from 250 Manifested Visions to 325 Manifested Visions.
- The maximum yield per day for completing all 7 quests increases from 1,750 Manifested Visions to 2,275 Manifested Visions.
- In War Mode, there is still a bonus of up to 30% on this amount. This means that the maximum per day in War Mode increases from 2,275 to 2,957 Manifested Visions.
Those who complete their quests daily with the maximum War Mode bonus can – just through the 7 daily quests – visit another Horrifying Vision every three days.
Blizzard had already buffed the quests once – back then by a whopping 400%.
Rare mobs or events are no longer worthwhile
This is the criticism: While the planned changes are well received by players, there is also criticism.
One frequently mentioned point is that all other activities related to assaults feel meaningless. Completing the small events or killing rare enemies grants only between 10 and 30 Manifested Visions – a barely noticeable amount.
A rare mob is thus worth only between 0.1% and 0.3% of a Vessel of Horrifying Visions (the vessel costs 10,000 Manifested Visions) and is therefore almost meaningless. Whether Blizzard will also increase these numbers is still uncertain.
Upgrading of cloak Ahjra’kamas will be less laborious in WoW
Cloak quests will be easier: The hotfix will also bring some changes to the quests required to upgrade the legendary cloak Ashjra’kamas.
For the low upgrades (up to level 11), you can now obtain up to 4 pages from a vision if you complete enough bonus areas. For the higher levels 13, 14, and 15 (coming in the next weeks), the number of required pages will be significantly reduced. Thus, anyone should be able to complete each upgrade easily within the week they receive the task.
Will you complete the daily quests regularly again after the buff? Or will you avoid these tasks regardless of how many Manifested Visions there are?
