The cap for herald’s crests in World of Warcraft has fallen. From now on, you can collect infinitely powerful equipment – in easy content.
Good equipment in World of Warcraft is what everyone wants. As of today, farming it is possible in new ways, as the limits for one of the most important resources have been lifted. We reveal what has changed regarding the herald’s crests.
What has changed? With the weekly reset on 12/11/2024, the limit that previously existed on the various herald’s crests has been removed. Previously, it was only possible to collect 90 of each crest type per week, with the maximum increasing each week.
Now, this limitation has been completely lifted.
What are crests needed for? Herald’s crests in their various tiers are necessary to upgrade equipment or have particularly powerful equipment crafted by artisans. Depending on which “track” an item is on (adventurer, champion, hero, etc.), you can use the crests to squeeze a few more item levels out of an item and thus gain significantly in power.
What does this mean? Especially players at the highest level can now upgrade their equipment without a crest limit, until they have the best possible gear.
But characters at the lower end of the system also benefit from this.
The possibilities this provides are likely interesting for everyone who does not play the hardest content. Those who, for example, do not dare to enter the highest ‘Mythic+’ dungeons, heroic or even mythic raids, can now also farm infinite upgrades with ‘easy’ content. Although this can take a lot of time, in this case, time can outweigh skill.
This is because you can convert 90 crests of a lower tier into 15 crests of the next higher tier. This results in the following exchange list, providing a virtually endless method to obtain the best crests – even without playing particularly tough content. Since you can even farm weathered herald’s crests entirely in the open world – for example, by collecting the Azerite Orbs
in the currently active area while flying, you can theoretically farm infinitely without ever having to play challenging content.
Those who want the “perfect” equipment can now start farming, as the barriers have fallen for the rest of Season 1. Next week (12/18/2024) patch 11.0.7 will already be released and bring a new island and an extremely powerful ring that will make the rest of Season 1 significantly easier.
