A series of buffs is intended to encourage druids in WoW to choose the cat form again. There are increases of up to 20%.
With the release of Battle for Azeroth, there should be a fundamental balance between the different classes in World of Warcraft. However, one specialization stands out as particularly weak: the Feral Druid. Many players avoid this specialization because it simply deals too little damage, cannot keep up in dungeons, and even encounters problems while questing. Now there are significant buffs.
What will be boosted? A total of three abilities of the Feral Druid will receive significant buffs. The changes are as follows:
- Brutal Slash deals 20% more damage.
- Rending Claw deals 15% more damage.
- Maul deals 15% more damage.
Additionally, there’s another fix: Druids will no longer lose their buffs Berserker, Tiger Fury, and Incarnation: King of the Jungle when they switch forms (e.g., to heal). The buff persists during form switching. This allows the druid to temporarily exit the form to cast something like Regrowth and then switch back to cat form with the buff still active.
The community wants more. While some players are happy that there are improvements for the druid at all, many are also disappointed. They feel these buffs do not go far enough and are allegedly “just a drop in the bucket.” The Feral Druid therefore needs further buffs to compete with the other classes.
There is still no exact release date for the buffs, but Blizzard expects it to be “within the next 48 hours” – so at the latest by Saturday morning.
