The Blizzard developers reward you with more glory in every Plunderstorm match of World of Warcraft from now on. We will tell you how to quickly obtain mounts, pets, titles, and cosmetic items.
What have the Blizzard developers changed? For the new Plunderstorm mode of World of Warcraft, the following hotfixes went live on the night of March 20 to 21, 2024:
- The loot dropped by other players has been significantly increased.
- The loot from non-player enemies has been increased by 50 percent.
- The loot from golden chests has been doubled.
- For the best placement in a match, you now receive 500 loot (previously 100).
Developer Kurbeegold emphasizes in the announcement on the official WoW forum that defeated players do not lose loot upon their death. Your virtual demise is now simply more valuable than before. The amount of loot obtained also depends on how much loot the defeated player had been able to collect so far.

What do I do with all the loot? The loot earned during a Plunderstorm match is converted into glory for account-wide progression after each match. With the glory progression, you can level up to 40 levels and earn various rewards.
There are especially cosmetic items, pets, mounts, and titles. Highlights certainly include the majestic parrot of the plunder lord (mount), Blubbi the crab (pet), Pepe the pirate (pet), and a stylish pirate outfit.
Are there already players at level 40? Of course! On Reddit, LordLongshaft presented his fully geared pirate just a few hours ago. Whether there were other players who were faster is unclear.
According to Icy Veins, LordLongshaft reportedly left the warm-up rounds with about 700 to 800 loot from a match, which usually ended for him after five to six minutes – and that was before the hotfixes.
How do I efficiently farm loot? Basically, you receive loot by killing players as well as creatures and by looting golden chests. Additionally, you will be rewarded with loot for completing quests and winning a match.
For those who want to quickly grab all the rewards from Plunderstorm, it is advisable to play often as a duo with a friend. This way, you receive bonus loot when your partner earns loot.
Another good strategy is to avoid PvP encounters as much as possible and specialize in killing as many monsters and looting as many chests as possible in each match. Abilities like Whirlwind, Storm Archon, Mana Sphere, and Star Bomb will help you with that.
Otherwise, you should specifically work through the tasks of currently active quests. For these, you need to open about two chests, collect a certain number of loot, kill creatures, or collect two spells or items. The parallel available daily quest offers additional loot.
By the way: If you die and immediately leave the match, you will not lose any glory earned up to that point. More about this in the following article:
