An own Xal’atath in the bedroom – a dream for some fans of World of Warcraft. One was able to fulfill it for quite small money.
Xal’atath is the current antagonist in World of Warcraft and has a quite extensive history now. She started in Legion as the “Knaifu Waifu” of the shadow priest, and in Battle for Azeroth, she got an elven body and since then enjoys steering the fates of Azeroth and the cosmos and being responsible for drastic changes in the game world.
With so much presence in the game, it is hardly surprising that Xal’atath is extremely popular with parts of the community and some wish for a little more from her (no, not just the feet).
But one fan apparently hit the jackpot, as he now has a life-sized Xal’atath standing in his room.
What kind of statue is it? As a picture says more than a thousand words, just take a look yourself:
It is a life-sized Xal’atath on a pedestal in white color, with many details. She practically hovers in the air and will probably loom over most (lower mortals) significantly. The fact that she apparently ended up in a nerd cave, surrounded by shelves full of games, movies, and consoles, makes it clear: Someone has fulfilled a dream.
But anyone who believes that thousands of euros were necessary is mistaken, as the lucky buyer writes:
I found this on the Facebook Marketplace for 300 $, the seller just wanted to cover the material costs. This is fantastic, and if you’re reading this, Ryan, you’re simply the best!
Xal’atath at cost price
Why was the statue so cheap? The creator of the statue also chimed in on the Reddit post and explains why he parted with Xal’atath for such a low price. He writes:
Hey, that’s me! That was 17 kg Sunlu White Pla. The total cost was 242 $ for the filament. And yes, my wife supports my hobbies :). I like to challenge myself, and it wasn’t really about making money.
It seems a buyer got quite lucky and can now enjoy having a life-sized statue of Xal’atath in the room that always looks down with judgment at the smallest mistakes in dungeons or raids.
What will happen to the statue? The happy owner is still not sure how he wants to proceed with the statue. He actually intended to find someone to paint the statue with the correct colors, yet the many positive comments already saying that it already looks wonderful in its current state make him ponder.
In a joking manner, he adds:
I’m still looking for someone to sand it a bit and then airbrush paint it. Once it’s done, you can all come over and kiss her feet, literally! Just kidding, haha.
Community celebrates and wants exactly what you’re thinking: In the WoW community, the finding of this statue is received very well – aside from a healthy portion of envy. Of course, it is also repeatedly alluded to what some (half jokingly, half seriously) mainly associate with Xal’atath: Her feet.
