Suddenly canceled before release: Warcraft Tales was abruptly buried by Blizzard.
It was good news for all fans of the classic areas of World of Warcraft. YouTuber BellularGaming and his team took it upon themselves to release an interface addon for WoW that was supposed to elevate quests and stories in the starting areas to a new level. In addition to redesigning the existing quests, there were even recorded lines for every NPC, creating an entirely new sense of immersion.
Just days after the project was officially announced, it has now been abruptly buried – by Blizzard.
As Bellular announced in a new video, Warcraft Tales will not be released and the project has been put on hold. Unless “a small miracle” happens, the addon will likely never be released.
Particularly unfortunate: The work on the redesign of the quests in Elwynn was completed and was set to be released on April 6 – Westfall and Redridge Mountains were also significantly advanced and personally funded by Bellular.
It’s a bit strange because Bellular had repeatedly mentioned that he was in talks with some Blizzard employees who were excited about this addon. Since it was fundamentally just a modification of the interface, there seemed to be nothing standing in the way. However, Blizzard sees the addon as more and primarily as an “interference in the narrative” of World of Warcraft and is strictly against its release.
Bellular does not want to give up the matter yet and is trying to talk to Blizzard to potentially achieve a change of heart.
In the “real” WoW, players are currently dealing with some bugs from patch 7.2.
