Thanks to the experience boost, leveling in WoW is faster than ever. In less than 13 hours, your character can already be level 120.
In World of Warcraft, there are currently a lot of players leveling second characters. This is mainly because Blizzard has currently activated a huge XP bonus of 100%, making the leveling process incredibly quick. While many players report that they only needed just over a day of actual gameplay, the streamer DesMephisto shows that it can be done even faster. He only needs a little over 12 hours to reach max level.
Who is DesMephisto? In the WoW community, DesMephisto has already made a name for himself as “the crazy one who loves playing warriors.”
As early as August 2019, he had successfully leveled 41 warriors to level 120. His goal was to have a warrior for every race and both genders. Therefore, he knows leveling extremely well and has optimized his route. He loves habits and optimizations, which he attributes in part to his autism. He has also achieved one of our craziest achievements in WoW of all time with this.
What has he done? DesMephisto has nearly perfected his leveling strategy over the years. He levels up exclusively through quests and only solo. He claims this is faster than leveling through dungeons, island expeditions, or timewalking. He has noteworthy times and achieves a total result of under 13 hours.

DesMephisto also admits that his route was not yet optimal. Due to the bonus XP, he could have been a bit more effective in skipping certain lengthy quests. He believes it’s possible to shave off another half hour or even an hour.
However, DesMephisto leveled an allied race, specifically a mechagnome. They start at level 20, which saves 1-2 hours of gameplay. So, anyone looking to level one of the standard races should plan for a little more time.

These tips you must consider: DesMephisto approaches this with extreme planning. Therefore, he not only has heirlooms (like most players) but has made even more preparations:
- All heirlooms enchanted
- A stack of bonus XP potions from Boralus / Dazar’alor
- Sharpening stones for his weapons at all levels
- War drums to have a “Battle Rush” every now and then
- Goblin gliders to quickly bridge large distances
- Various mount items to interact with loot while questing without having to dismount
Additionally, at levels 40, 60, 70, and 80, the best possible riding skill is purchased immediately to minimize travel times.
