Rogues will soon be able to obtain one of Sylvanas’ special daggers in World of Warcraft – A dagger with which she also defeated Saurfang.
The upcoming Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination for World of Warcraft brings a lot of new content, but the centerpiece will likely be the raid “Sanctum of Domination” with its 10 bosses. Especially the final boss triggers a greedy glint in the eyes of certain classes: Sylvanas Windrunner.
What does Sylvanas drop? Sylvanas leaves behind several items of great historical relevance. For instance, you can loot the legendary bow Rae’shalare, which hunters will be drooling over.
But rogues also get to enjoy a very special item. They can score one of Sylvanas’ daggers, which has a special effect only for rogues.
What makes the dagger so special? The dagger, which has yet to be given its own name, grants rogues an additional effect. This is “Banshee’s Blight”:
Your attacks apply “Banshee’s Blight” to the target, giving your finishers a chance to deal additional shadow damage. Banshee’s Blight is stackable up to 4 times when your target is more critically wounded.
Rogues with the dagger, therefore, deal additional damage with their finishing moves, which also increases the closer the enemy is to death. This effectively gives rogues an additional “Execute” effect, making them even more efficient towards the end of a fight.
How exactly the fight against Sylvanas will unfold and what major consequences this will have for the Shadowlands, we will likely only find out after the release of Patch 9.1.
Why does Sylvanas use daggers? Sylvanas is actually more known for her archery skills, but since Battle for Azeroth, we know that the Banshee Queen can also handle daggers well. She proved this most recently in her fight against Saurfang at the gates of Orgrimmar – at least before she overwhelmed him with death magic.
When will Patch 9.1 be released? There is still no fixed release date for Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination. However, the PTR has been running for quite a while, as more and more content is gradually being refined. So it could be the case in just a few weeks.
