One such example is “Wowgrandma78,” who enjoys some popularity on Twitch.
Who is she anyway? On her Twitch channel, “WoW Grandma” shares a little about herself. She is – as the name suggests – 78 years old and has been playing video games actively since 1998. She started with World of Warcraft in December 2004, back in the Vanilla days, shortly after the game’s release. Since early 2020, she has also been streaming on Twitch and entertaining some viewers – in just under a year, she has already built up over 25,000 followers.
Good vibes characterize her stream: In the streams of WowGrandma78, there is usually a positive atmosphere, which is also due to the streamer herself. She is usually quite calm and always has a few encouraging words when things don’t go according to plan. She is so warm-hearted and funny that you can’t help but smile. Recently, she praised one of her fellow players and explained that he “plays like he’s on crack – even though I know that’s not true.”
But if we’re honest: Who wouldn’t be motivated by an older lady lifting you up with positive words?
What does she do? In World of Warcraft, the “WoW Grandma” primarily plays her restoration Druid. She is quite active with it. Anyone who thinks that such an elderly lady can’t have much in the tank is mistaken. She is active both in heroic Castle Nathria and in dungeons of the “Mythic+” category. She has even made it to the difficulty “Mythic+14” – thus achieving accomplishments that many younger players still struggle with.
