Two new cinematics are in World of Warcraft. We reveal how the Alliance and Horde learn about the powerful Azerite.
The latest patch of World of Warcraft: Legion is live. In Update 7.3.5 there are a handful of new story missions that are available once players have defeated Argus, the Unmaker in Antorus, the Burning Throne.
Part of these quest lines are two brand new cinematics – one for the Horde and one for the Alliance. They tell the story of the factions and give a first impression of what the Battle for Azeroth will be about.

The Horde Cinematic – Sylvanas seeks more power
The fight against the Burning Legion has claimed victims, but now it is won. The leaders of the Horde gather to celebrate together and to work on their further plans. After a few solemn words from Baine Bloodhoof, who receives applause from everyone – except for Sylvanas and Nathanos – Gallywix takes the floor. He wishes to speak with Sylvanas privately. He shows his leader a small stone, the powerful Azerite. Sylvanas immediately recognizes the power in this resource and orders to extract as much Azerite as possible without the Alliance finding out.
The Alliance Cinematic – Anduin’s concern
Meanwhile, High King Anduin Wrynn is in Stormwind delivering a victory speech at his father’s tomb. He is being watched by Genn Greymane, who is immediately addressed by Matthias Shaw, the leader of the Stormwind intelligence agency SI:7.
Shaw informs Anduin that a large number of goblins have been sighted in Silithus, apparently having come across something valuable. Anduin is also handed a small shard of Azerite and immediately recognizes the power that lies within it.
With these two cinematics, Blizzard sets the stage for the upcoming expansion Battle for Azeroth, which will primarily focus on the Azerite resource.
